I can’t say enough about how great it was to use Sam and Lay Lo. Linda and I adopted a beautiful 3 year old Shih Tzu/Bichon mix. We were told up front that she had behavioral issues that resulted in her being placed for adoption. We accepted the challenge but also knew that we needed professional help to help her adapt to us and to improve her fear and stress issues. During each Lay Lo session, Sam walked us through a number of exercises targeted towards her problems. We saw almost immediate improvement with his assistance using the Lay Lo program. At the end of our sessions, we saw our Spice become the little pet that we hoped she would be. I honestly don’t think we could have helped Spice alone without Sam’s assistance. Working with our trainer, Sam, and the staff over the past 8 weeks has been a wonderful experience! They truly cared about helping me and my dogs. Katie was so great to work with. The 8 week program was exactly what I needed to feel more comfortable with my new puppy. I struggled with the online apps that didn’t have the live component . And she even helped me involve our older dog to ease the transition for him as well. The 15 minute daily practice sessions were game changers. I rescued a huge young Shepherd mix and looked for someone to help me calm her 85 lb. butt down for this old lady. I found what I needed with Lay Lo. They assigned Sam to me.
We worked together well. Most of all Sam taught me a lot about how the dog brain works and what I need to do to keep that mind busy. Gave me the tools to handle her energy and recommended proper accessories for walking and training.
Kaleesi is a different dog. Seriously. So much calmer and obedient because I now know her needs and wants much better. I love that.

Working with Homeschool by Lay Lo and specifically, trainer Katie, was a great experience. My newly adopted 7 year old poodle/ bichon mix named Chewie turned out to have some reactivity issues. I was hesitant at first to choose training that was not in person, however the Zoom format turned out to work very well for both Chewie and myself. It really felt like Katie was right there in the room with us. Chewie improved right away and was anxious to please. I especially liked that after each session we received training notes and video of our training session. This was very helpful when I wanted to review any / all of our previous training sessions. At our weekly 45 minute training sessions, I especially liked that I could review Chewie's progress or stumbles since our previous session and Katie would always have knowledgeable and sound suggestions to help moving Chewie forward. Another perk of the program was access to mini sessions between our weekly 45 minute training sessions. I could use them to practice or to discuss any new issues that may have occurred since training. I have a feeling I will be accessing additional support from Homeschool now that we've completed our 8 week course. They are a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to helping our fur babies live their best lives in their new forever homes. More...

I would give Stephanie an High 5 star rating for her knowledge, encouragement and care in helping me train my puppy Checkers. My dog is better behaved and fun to be around after going through a several week training program with Homeschool by LayLo. We worked on my approach to putting his leash on, so he didn't withdraw from me, going on and off his mat with commands, ringing the bell to go out to potty, less aggression for licking and nibbling, coming when called, and checking in with me on a walk to distract him from other objects/people/squirrels, etc. Thanks for your help!! We had a fantastic time training with Katie and looked forward to our Thursdays with her. She was very patient and informative. Although he is still reactive to dogs, which was our reason for signing up for your program, our walks are fun and we interact a lot more. I do wish that we could of gotten his reactivity under control. So far I have spent over 4k on training methods like yours and am totally frustrated and confused on what to do next.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I worked with Emily Blythe and Katie Cloyd and they were both great. They explained things clearly and when I felt stuck always had great suggestions for an alternate way to approach the training of a particular skill or task. I was initially a bit nervous about the training being all on-line, but that really worked great. I loved being able to work with my dogs in the environment where they're most comfortable. It was so great working with Katie & LayLo. She was patient, knowledgeable amends understood the mindset of my dog and offered different ways to help me to teach him not to be so reactive. She is there for you step by step. If you need a little extra help or aren't getting the results you'd hoped for, she'd help come up with other ways to try that wound up working great. She demonstrates all the things she wants you to try with you dog with her own sweet doggie. She was always genuinely happy to see my dog Bam Bam & myself every week. Also, if you need any help or have any quotations, they have a quick respond time. You feel like they are there just for you and your dog only. I admit I was skeptical at first, because it was all virtual training. My concern was put aside during our first session. Katie was amazing . Her patience and genuine caring about the progress of Bernie was evident in every session, and her excitement matched mine when Bernie's progress was noticable.

Having the training in my home, where my dog was comfortable, without the trainer there to distract him, proved to be more effective than I expected. Katie not only helped train Bernie, but she educated me as well, in how to be a better dog-parent. When the training concluded, the owner of the company reached out to me for feedback, which I thought was great. And the library of information they give you access to is worth the investment alone. I plan to join some of the group classes they offer as well.

Our experience with Lay Lo was wonderful. We rescued a fearful puppy with a difficult background and quickly realized we didn’t know how to help her overcome her fears on our own. We were unsure how effective online training would be, but since our pup feels safest at home, we decided to give it a try.

Our trainer, Stephanie, was absolutely amazing. She provided countless resources to help build Poppy’s confidence both at home and out in the world. Her demonstrations were clear and easy to follow, and she always explained the reasoning behind each exercise, which helped us feel confident and supported throughout the process.

As college students, the flexibility Lay Lo offers was especially helpful for us. Our schedules can be unpredictable, and while we weren’t able to attend every practice session, the team consistently checked in to make sure training was going well and that all of our questions were answered. We always felt supported, even when life got busy.

Working with Homeschool by LAYLO was an awesome experience! The trainers definitely know what they are doing and are so patient and friendly! I was skeptical about training through zoom meetings, but I very quickly learned that this is definitely one of the best ways to train your dog. My primary trainer was Shannen and she was always very attentive to my concerns and questions!

I went from my 3 y.o Yorkie having accidents almost every single day to maybe once or twice a week in a span of a couple weeks of the training! I love how they break down how your dog understands and learns since training can be a frustrating task to do at times since humans learn completely differently than dogs. They teach you a lot of useful tips and cues as well that assist you with training.

If you don't see results from the training, I would have to argue that the biggest thing with it is making sure YOU are doing the trainings on your own time outside of the classes and meetings. The trainers are very knowledgeable. It was also so helpful to just be able to send a quick text to my trainers and get feedback on my questions and training videos. We had a great experience working with Homeschool by LAY LO, especially our trainer, Katie. We were working with TJ, a rescue dog from Tijuana who had significant resource guarding issues and was struggling to coexist with our other high-energy dog, Jackson.

Katie took the time to teach us how to better understand our dogs and their behavior, not just how to correct problems. She helped TJ learn how to relax and integrate into our family in a way that felt realistic and manageable. Along the way, I learned things about dogs and training that I honestly didn’t know before and realized some of my old assumptions weren’t as effective as I thought.
