The food is fabulous! It's a small take out restaurant with south East Asian cuisine. They do have one table inside so obviously limited seating. We couldn't wait and actually ate in the parking lot! The service was so great. Such nice people! When we picked up our food after calling in from the road, our bag of food was wrapped in a blanket to keep it warm. lol! Very thoughtful. Definitely try HD Cuisine. It's tiny but mighty. You won't be disappointed. More...

Truly excellent food - lunch specials are a great deal for the quality and taste. My personal favorites are the Penang Char Koay Teow and the Nasi Lemak Biru, but you truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Amazing family owned joint! The owners are so sweet and the food is one of a kind. The menu is super extensive but we keep trying new things and everything has been delicious. The rendangs are all great and so are the curries. The Nasi Lemak is so good. We recently had their desserts and they were unique and tasty too. The owner really brings his unique flavors from his country which is such a blessing to be able to get access to! More...

Been wanting to try this place for awhile. They have really friendly service and a nice entry way to Malaysian-Chinese food fusion. We went with what they recommended and I enjoyed the chicken with ginger and the noodles was delicious as well. Place is somewhat small, but seems like several people got carry out, so I'm guessing that is their main business. Nice place to try if you never had Malaysian food before More...

Food is delicious!! It is a very small store with maybe 3 tables. I usually order for to go instead of dining in. Please note there is a mandatory 18% gratitude if you dine in.

Absolutely a delightful spot. Huge menu and delicious food! We met Lin and had a delightful time eating there. Only three tables so be careful if you're planning on eating in.

Tasty variety of Malaysian food. It's a no frills mom and pop with excellent and attentive service. Having tried quite a bit of the items on the menu, it's hard to pick a wrong thing.

All exceptional. Outstanding food menu. Don't drive on the Kennedy expressway, trying to get to Chinatown, when you can dine at HD which is equally as goif not even better.

Unique delicious Malaysian cuisine. Loved everything we ate. The Penang Char Kwey Teow was my favorite. Also enjoyed Lor Bak, Beef Rendang and Roti Paratha which were recommended by my Malaysian friend. The service was excellent we got great recommendations there too. So many 4+ reviews and local, so we decided to try. Love Mom and Pop places, but this was extreme Mom and Pop. Just a couple of folding tables and chairs. Service was great. Young man was doing everything. Tofu was overdone and dry and the rest of the food was just OK. Between the dine in experience and the food I had to rate it 1.5. Maybe some of the menu items are better but our 2 meals were just meh. More...

Food and service were great! Dining room is small and spartan, the door is close, and drafts hard to avoid. Our table of 6 was treated well, anything unclear was cheerfully explained. The food was very good, and portions were quite ample! Warning - beware, they charge a modest service charge by default, so adjust tips accordingly. We shared a meal, were accorded extra plates & silverware... and we added a small tip to cover the extra serving. More...

Great quality ! Halal food option available as well. Beef Mongolian was simply delicious! The hot and sour soup was scrumptious, perfect choice in such a chilly weather. This Malaysian restaurant has a variety of options beef, meat and chicken. The compact seating makes it a good carry out option though. The service in the amount of time to just drive and pick the food up was good as the food way ready in timely manner. More...

When you're looking for a mom and pop restaurant to local support, this is one that should be at the top of the list. Located in a small plaza in Wheeling and sort of tucked away, and small but packs a punch of greatness. While it is small, there are a few tables and chairs inside and outside the restaurant should you decide to dine in. When you get there, everyone who works there is family. The owner, Lin and her brother Robert are almost always behind the counter with a smile. I have a few go to items when I visit, the first being their pancakes. Not the traditional American pancakes but the Asian stuffed with pork or beef kind. The portions are hide and jam packed with flavors. Their Thai basil fried rice is delish too! They offer tons of traditional Malaysian and Hawker Delights (hence the HD)! All in all, from the service, to the flavors and the price you truly get the bang for your buck. Can't wait to come back soon! More...

Five stars--but not for the ambiance, let's get that out of the way. From the outside, HD Cuisine could easily be mistaken for a nail salon. The place is small, and the interior isn't exactly winning any design awards. But that's not where this spot shines, and frankly, that's part of the charm. They didn't invest in the decor, and you'll quickly see why. They've put everything into the food. I spent years in Singapore and made regular trips to Malaysia, and HD Cuisine brought me right back to those streets, where it's all about what's on your plate. The food here isn't just good--it's the kind of cooking that's steeped in tradition, the kind that hits you in the best possible way, bite after bite. It's the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem, a hole-in-the-wall that, in all honesty, you don't really want to blow up. You want to keep it as your little secret because it feels like home, in a way. No frills, no fuss--just incredibly satisfying food that delivers on every level. If you've ever missed the taste of Malaysia or Singapore, or if you just want a break from the typical Illinois dining scene, this is the place to be. And when you stop by, do me a favor--say hi to Lin for me. More...

All right, me and hubby were looking for a great little Malaysian spot and boy. Is this a hole in the wall! We were greeted by a very nice young man upon entry and boy. Did we notice that there was hardly any seating inside! We sat down. We were given menus that probably could have been wiped down a few times before we got to them and looked at a very tempting menu! We ordered roti paratha and char kuay Teow - and the flavor was spot on for both! I really enjoyed the food for sure-it appears they do a lot more takeout because the restaurant just doesn't have enough room for customers. But the biggest problem was seriously expensive and outrageously high service charge that was not noted on the menu before we ordered. Now I usually give a very nice 20% tip and did so here but when I looked at the printed receipt, I saw a mandatory service charge that was almost as much as the tip-I was a bit blown away! I will go again, but I won't tip if the service charge remains. That said? I will go again because the flavor was spot on, and my Malaysian friends would be satisfied eating there. I am that certain. If you want to try a nice flavor of Malaysian food? This is a great place to try. More...
