My family had the best time meeting Emily and getting in a really fun family portrait photo session with our toddlers. Emily helped us feel comfortable right away, which made the entire experience so laid back and enjoyable - we didn’t have to stress, rush, wrestle with our toddlers. Emily was so great to work with! We hired her to shoot our elopement in Charlottesville with an 1-hr portrait session. The whole process went smoothly. She was super responsive and reflexible during the consultation process. On the shooting day, Emily was very professional and gave us helpful tips for posing. She was moving with us throughout the Charlottesville Downtown Mall for an hour long portrait shoot. After the shooting, Emily provided us with sneak peaks within a day and respected our preferences for editing styles. What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about being a photographer is getting to preserve moments that people will treasure for the rest of their lives. There’s something incredibly meaningful about being invited into such personal milestones — the quiet, emotional moments on a wedding day, the playful chaos of a family session, the tiny details of a newborn’s first days.
I love creating a space where people can relax, be themselves, and actually enjoy the experience. When a couple forgets the camera is there, or when a family starts laughing together naturally, that’s when the magic happens. Capturing those real, unscripted moments is what fills me up.
And honestly, the best part is knowing that these images will become part of someone’s story — framed on walls, shared with loved ones, passed down through generations. It’s a privilege I never take for granted.
