About

I work with people in the middle of a transition.

Often that is a midlife reckoning, a career that no longer fits the person who built it, burnout arriving after years of doing everything right, or the recognition that an identity which once provided security has run its course.

Q&As

The moment someone hears themselves say the thing they have been circling for months. It usually arrives sideways, in the middle of a sentence about something else, and I can watch it land. My part is mostly staying out of the way once it does. After thirty years that hour still holds more interest for me than anything else I do, and I have never once been able to predict which session it will happen in.

My doctoral research looked at the middle of a transition, studying people who had just survived a heart attack and were working out what their lives were now. I wanted to understand the stretch after one thing ends and before the next has taken shape. Years later I moved from New Mexico to Querétaro and found myself standing in that stretch without any professional distance from it. Coaching is the work that meets people there, before the answer arrives. The books came out of the same ground.

I have spent thirty years working with people at the point where their capacities and their circumstances stopped lining up with the work in front of them. The middle of a transition is the subject I spent my doctoral research on, and I have published a book on living in alignment with what matters, with a second arriving this fall. What that adds up to in practice is that very little surprises me, and that the decisions stay yours throughout. The free 20-minute conversation will tell us both more than this paragraph can.

Yes, all of it. Every session runs by secure video, 55 minutes, in English, with people worldwide, from Querétaro, México. Nothing in this work requires a room. I have found that people speak more openly from their own kitchen table than from an unfamiliar office, and scheduling is built around your time zone rather than mine. The free 20-minute conversation happens the same way, so you can see how it feels before committing to anything.

My practice is fully virtual, so sessions carry none of the exposure that comes with an office visit. Everything happens by secure video, wherever you are.

Services

For people in midlife and beyond who are working out what comes next. A career that stopped fitting, a transition that will not resolve, burnout after years of doing the right things, or a question about purpose that has been waiting.

Sessions are 55 minutes by secure video, in English, worldwide, drawing on thirty years in psychology, career development, and mind-body practice. We look at where your life lines up and where it pulls against itself, and what you want to do about it. A free 20-minute conversation comes first.
