DJ Bob has been a karaoke DJ at the Sheraton Hotel in Meriden. He also provides DJ services for weddings and parties of all sorts, typically serving as the master-of-ceremonies. Obviously, karaoke parties are also a specialty.

What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
The secret lies in reading the crowd and playing music the crowd responds to. That's seldom the same old playlist - different tastes, different ages, different styles all play to the music choice. And, of course, requests. I play a variety of music in order to read the crowd, and then I choose appropriate music.

Cooperative. I am there to make your evening enjoyable.
What do you love most about your job?
It's just plain fun! Yes, there is work in the set-up, and in responding to the crowd, but watching people have fun is contagious.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Self-employment has many advantages. I also work as an independent staffing consultant, and I am a Notary Public.

Especially with karaoke, I provide individual microphone covers, and frequent sanitizing. Masks and social distancing are encouraged.
