Offered huge remodel on the house, there are some things like cracks, nails sticking out if the wall, base boards bowing out, plugs put in that were never hooked up that were part of the contract, the original plan was open concept, after getting 1/4 way into the work so we would still have to pay, they said it would t work and changed the whole design into something i didnt want, but they said it was the only way it would work. They offered a decorative wall, then waited til close to the end to say if i want anything on it, it would be thousands more. Also getting ahold of them and getting them to follow through is a nightmare. Its been over a year since they came out the last time, there is still several items they have not finished, but they always claim they will send someone out and no one comes. On top of everything, they were very expensive to begin with, and then took off a bunch of things that were supposed to be included, and made it even more expensive. Complete scam artists. To reply: It is definitely not the wrong business. Its been too long and too many times sending out someone else, son or whatever that was not a help. I dont take reviews lightly, thats why i waited. We've had a lot of work done on our house the last 3 years: new pavers for the driveway and around the house, new pool house, painting in side and out, replaced AC & heat. Through all the work, I worked with a lot of contractors. Of all the folks I worked with, Cerletti & Kennedy is at the top of my list. The earthquake work isn't visible like the other work done on our house but it's definitely very important work. I feel so much better now that the earthquake work has been done. Matt, one of the partners was very helpful, informative and responsive. The workers were very friendly and polite. They cleaned up every day and did their best to work around our busy schedule. The bid was very competitive and the results were outstanding. They also did a great job with submitting information to EBB and our city inspector. We highly recommend Cerletti & Kennedy for the Earthquake Bolt & Brace (EBB) work done on our home in Pittsburg, California, in September 2024. If our experience is any indication of the quality of their work, we can also highly recommend them for any other construction work you may need. Once our EBB application was approved, I endeavored to get a good range of quotes: I received seven quotes from different companies, even though only three were required. There was one company that stood out from the rest, providing comprehensive information on the materials to be used as well as the installation process. Matt Kennedy also spent a fair amount of time on the phone with me, explaining exactly what the work entailed. Happily, their quote came in under the amount allotted by EBB. What really cinched the deal for me was that I didn’t have to come up with any money up front for the permits or inspections. Cerletti & Kennedy handled everything for us. To top that, the two-man crew they sent out were two of the nicest workers I’ve encountered. Honestly too much to mention with this company. I could post a note I had emailed to myself of the timelines they came and how many issues occured. Nonetheless, they completed my floorboards, and update my electrical panel. The promptness was not at all there, the cleanliness was not there, a lot of he said she said BS. Was quoted for 3 different work to be done around the house including a Patio cover.I Wanted everything permitted. After they completed the floor boards, which came out alright due to some pieces weren't flushed to the walls, they started working on my electrical panel. He subcontracted it out. They started working on it without a permit and finished the job. Very sketchy, until I asked where the permit was. Robert said he would ask the guy who did it. It took awhile for him to get back at me, so I followed up again. He said he thought we weren't getting a permit for it. He gave us a timeline for when things would be done, and believe me, there were a lot of hiccups that ruined some plans we had. They would say they would arrive at 9am on most days, no one shows up until later. They said they would leave and come back to finish up the work at 12pm. No one came back and their tools were just left outside along with their mess. We would secure their tools so it doesn't get stolen, and would also clean up all the mess they left inside and outside the house. Thankfully we cut ties with them after they finished the electrical panel. Told Robert I could no longer have him working on anything else as there have been so many issues going on. We didn't have them install the patio cover as it kept getting delayed as well. Plus, no permits were applied for on that as well. I've kept it professional and just asked him to stay true to his word to get the permit for the electrical panel. He eventually got us that a few weeks later and got the final inspection done. I know I paid more than what I probably should have, but it's honestly water under the bridge at this point. That door closed and another one opened up, which allowed me to find the best contractor to set up my patio cover. I was able to see the difference between night and day with the new contractors I hired for the patio cover. More...

We heard about Cerletti & Kennedy by way of the California Residential Mitigation Program's Earthquake Brace and Bolt Program (EBB). Cerletti & Kennedy were listed as one of the several contractors who met the criteria to install the bracing and the bolting which is used to anchor the frame of the house to its foundation. I received phone calls and emails and screened several contractors on EBB's list. I consulted the California's Contractors State License Board's website to check the status of the several contractors. Because I have worked in the insurance industry, I personally preferred those contractors who have workers compensation insurance. Eventually, I narrowed down my choices to three contractors. All three contractors visited our property and provided us estimates for the work. Matt Kennedy was our initial contact with Cerletti & Kennedy. He came to our home, explained the entire process, answered questions, and took pictures. On our behalf, Cerletti & Kennedy obtained the building permit and then, following approval by EBB, scheduled the work and installation underneath the house. Their workers were courteous and efficient. There was minimal intrusion into our home and a limited amount of disruption. Originally, Matt stated it would take three days to complete the project. But it only took two days for Cerletti & Kennedy to complete the work. On the morning of day three the city inspector crawled underneath our house, made his inspection, and then signed his approval on the building permit. It is great to have a bit less concern about when "The Big One" shakes our home. Now we have more peace of mind. The other great benefit toward having this work done is that we should soon be receiving a significant discount on our earthquake insurance premiums year in and year out. More...

I contacted Cerletti and Kennedy through the CEA Earthquake Bolt and Brace program. Matt called me snd scheduled a date and time to stop by and give an estimate. The time came and went with no word from Matt. I received a call from Matt an hour after our scheduled appointment time. He was apologetic and wished to reschedule for the following morning. Cerletti and Kennedy are the great balance of design-creativity and project management time/cost execution. Their kitchen design team came up with solutions to design challenges like maximizing storage in a small space while keeping it accessible through close partnering with suppliers. On the build side, the project moved steadily to completion with regular updates without me having to ask. The inevitable hiccups were brought to my attention right away and addressed usually within a few days. Most important to me was the craftsmanship and attention to fine detail of the construction team. We hired Cerletti & Kennedy this past summer (2023) to do a total remodeling of our outdated kitchen. We didn& #39;t have much space to work with but what they came up with was amazing. We enclosed the new refrigerator and built out the cabinet above which gave us more storage. We took out the old vent system which went all the way up to the ceiling and put in an over the stove microwave and cabinets which gave us a little more storage. We put in a pull out spice rack next to the stove and a lazy susanne next to that. We angled the corner cabinets which gave us yet more storage. We took out the dishwasher which we never used and put in a pull-out trash and recycling cabinet and extended to baking sheet cabinet. We had a Quartz countertop put in and installed a tile backsplash from the refrigerator all the way around the kitchen. Of course a new sink, garbage disposal and faucet. Our contractor, Ruben showed up on time and always cleaned up when he was done for the day. He always got right to work and set up his equipment. One thing I really appreciated was when Dante showed us that the open space on each side of the kitchen window was uneven (Feng Shuai) and recommended installing a curved 4 shelve piece so it would be more even. Ruben was also very helpful when ever an issue came up and would explain the issue and help come up with suggestions each time. Would I recommend Cerletti & Kennedy to my family and friends, MOST DEFINATELY! I only wish I could have attached some photos I took of the completed project but I don't see a tab to do so. We had a great experience with door installations with Matt Kennedy and the carpenter Jerrod. The quote was reasonable and they scheduled us in promptly. Jerrod completed 2 tricky door installations in one day and even went above and beyond to rebuild a door frame. Cerletti and Kennedy did our kitchen remodel in July 2022. The renovation took about four months. A fireplace was removed which opened up much more space for the kitchen and living room. The structural beam issue was addressed extremely well with their engineers. We are delighted with the new layout. Everyone, including their subcontractors, from the demo to the finishing, was very knowledgeable and professional. They cleaned up at the end of each day. Robert provided the best price among the other bids we received. Matt executed an excellent design layout that was very functional and classic. He even included a walk-in pantry that I never thought would fit into our small space. Matt and Reuben have great eyes for details. True story so I decided to build an ADU in The back of my house for extra income, after I heard that the building fees were lowered in California. Me knowing nothing about building. I got my plan then got it approved by the city ready to built.The contractor I got under quoted me which I didn't know so to make a long horror story short. First payment $30.000.00 second payment another $30.000.00 so on and so forth. by the end of the first phase of construction he had taking all of the money that we had agreed upon and left never to come back. I was devastated.  6 months later an other contractor who didn't know how to read a plan. The city had to make them removed the sheet rock which is Another horror story which I have no time to tell. We had a meeting with the city I end up firing them.  Then I got  a recommendation to Cerletti & Kennedy Design-Build came to my rescue.  To say I'm please with Cerletti and Kennedy is an under statement. They are very Proffecionel. They did an excelent job finishing my 700 square feet ADU. Matt Kennedy has been amazing. I had originally hired another designer to design a mixed-use space including three seconds story apartments in a commercial property which went very south. Matt not only completed the design of the three units but was able to negotiate use of space with the City. He has intimate knowledge of the City Codes and has a good rapport with the City Planning and Building departments. He is also very helpful and available to answer questions and provide information. This was our first kitchen remodel. We hired the team at Certetti & Kennedy to complete the job. With their experience of Robert, Matt and Eddie they made suggestions and were extremely helpful, while staying within our budget. Matt Kennedy the team designer, mapped out our small kitchen to make the best use of space while being functional. Now we have the kitchen we dreamed of. Matt and Robert were a dream come true - we had a pipe burst right when COVID hit last February and couldn't get any contractors to even come give us an estimate. The ones that did come bid very high and refused to deal with our insurance company. Matt and Robert have so much experience and made the process so easy. Their crew was fantastic, on time, respectful and highly professional. We were able to remodel our family room in addition to our kitchen and they are both beautiful!
