Pete does a great job at immediately helping to correct your training concerns. Within a few weeks we saw immediate improvements, along with our family. Photo attached is from his group walks he offers on weekends, which further helps expose and correct your dogs behavior in a group setting. He took helped walk our dog and train me first hand at the beginning of our walk. Recommend his services to anyone! More...

Updated 12/29/25I want to ensure I give a very fair picture of this situation. We did receive a refund which we felt fair and in line with time the trainer did put in. The biggest take away for anyone looking to use this service is to ensure you have a match with the trainer personally and not just for the dog.Our trainer came over on a Sunday and informed us training would be approximately 2 hours. Almost 4 hours later the training session was over. We set another session for 2 weeks later. The trainer did not arrive on time. We texted and then called with no response. We finally got a response that he had out session down for 2 hours after we had agreed on and he blamed it on his scheduling team being in another time zone. He came over and we had to have a rushed sessions because our kids had to get to their activities. We set another session for 2 weeks later. He again didn't show up. We reached out and got a text back that he was in a training session. We were able to connect on the phone and he said he didn't have us on his schedule. He then blamed his phone memory being full. Given that the contract said you should give a 15 minute grace period and the trainer was not within that grace period either time I reached back out a few days later and said after thinking it over he hadn't built trust with us and we wanted a refund (and that he should keep the booking fee- we don't want to be unreasonable here). The trainer said he would sit at his computer and handle it when he could because he had only given 2 refunds this year so this wasn't too bad. That was on Friday. I gave him the weekend and reached back out Monday. Then Tuesday. Then again today which is a Wednesday. He is now ignoring me so I am sharing my experience with everyone so that you do not use Bark Busters. They can't be trusted. Do not use this service. Find a local trainer who charges by the session and will show more respect for you as a client. More...

Pete’s training session with our year and a half rescue poodle exceeded our expectations. Our pup is late in the socialization process. Pete explains challenges, methods, steps, and training tools very thoroughly. He demonstrates the steps, provides literature, gives homework assignments all to help reach goals. We are so happy we called him for help and we’re thrilled with the results. Also, we have a senior parent in the house who received excellent guidance from Pete. As he got to know all of us, he customized an amazing plan of action. Thank you Pete!!! More...

Thanks to Pete's guidance and support, we've already seen significant improvements in our dogs' behaviors within just a few days. Highly recommended. More...

Peter has helped my family transition with 2 puppies. I’ve never met someone that has such a remarkable bond with every dog he meets. Our first was rescue mastiff mix that we were fostering that had a history of abuse. She had anxiety, and some fear aggression. I have 3 small children, he would come out to house and spent the time needed with her and worked through her issues and have us the tools to train her so that we could find a forever home for her.
Our second puppy is a high energy pitbull shepherd mix. He was a lot to handle we needed a lot of help with basic training and help to stop some negative behaviors that were starting to happen. He again spend so much time with me and also my kids teaching us how to interact and train him . It’s been almost a year and that crazy puppy, that I was worried about biting behavior and aggression, has turned into a well behaved and support dog for my kids.
I highly recommend Peter to anyone that has a new pet for any type of training needs. He keeps in touch with his clients and truly cares about the outcome. It’s an investment, you have to be willing to put the work in as well but he is always available to help if / when another issue comes up.

Pete spent 4 hours at our house on Friday afternoon, and we’ve already started to see a difference in our two pups! We have a 5 year old cavapoo named Henry and a 9 month old Irish doodle named Theo. We also have a baby on the way and knew we needed some help establishing ground rules for our pups and getting their barking under control. They’re pretty well behaved, but they can be quite reactive to house guests and outside noise. Pete gave us so many tools and tricks for training. The key is to practice every day!Overall, it was a great investment and we will continue to work with Henry & Theo over the next few weeks before baby arrives. We have another session with Pete in a few weeks and hope to make lots of progress by then. More...

Peter was very helpful after we adopted our Pomeranian from ACCT. Stanley was found roaming the streets and we had no background information on him. He was very quiet and sweet when we first brought him home. It didn’t take too long for some behavior issues to start. We got in touch with Peter, who came to our home to help train not just Stanley but my hubby and myself as well. We did not follow up with the homework we were suppose to continue with. Stanley once again thought he could control us. I was afraid we would have to return Stanley to ACCT. Lo and behold with Peter’s help, again, we have Stanley pretty much where we want him to be. I am sooooo grateful to Peter because I am happy knowing Stanley has definitely found his forever home!!! More...

Best investment for my dog and family ever!! I had Pete come out and do some home training sessions with my family and French Bulldog. I couldn't be happier. We followed Pete's notes and stuck to the plan exactly as he layed it out for us. He was available when I had follow up questions. My dog is so much safer and happier because of it. We live on a very busy corner and I was afraid she would run and get hit by a car. People say French Bulldogs are hard to train so I was paranoid but she listens amazingly well. Pete is absolutely amazing and I’m so glad I came across Bark Busters. After being told our pup would have to be sedated prior to any other vet appointments due to her anxiety and hyperactivity I decided to reach out to Pete. I have had a lot of trouble getting my dog to listen and teach her puppy manners. Within 10 minutes of Pete being there he had her responding to sit, stay and even getting her to walk nicely on a lead. Pete was great working with our two dogs Duke and Jax. Duke is 9 years old and is territorial of his house, and Jax is 2 and new to our house. We thought we’d be able to handle to handle the sibling rivalry, but the first night we had them together there was a big dog fight. Pete showed us how to build training into our day to shut down the sibling rivalry, ease our stress about resource sharing between the two dogs, and also helped us with other issues we’ve had with duke. The best part is that the “homework” he gave us was built into our daily routine - using feeding as an opportunity, using letting them out in the yard, and step training. When we rescued our dog, Lila, from the Philadelphia shelters we were overwhelmed with what to do. We lived in the city and she seemed very aggressive towards other dogs, particularly on the leash. She was just misunderstood as a neglected pit bull. Once we hired Pete as our trainer, he worked with her continuously in the city, on the weekly walks and at his house until we finally got her to be able to play with other dogs! At 46 years of age I finally got a dog. I didn't know the front from the back of "Cooper" my new family member. After asking around Bark Buster's kept being mentioned. So I call to get more information and as it turns out Pete aka "The Doggy Llama" answers the phone. Now Pete I have known since 1980 something. I had lost contact with him over the years. Well after many questions we book an appointment for his services. After just one visit my Pitbull was listening to me. Sitting, Staying, Etc. Pete truely knows how to not only talk to dogs he explains and shows one to do it as well. It's now been 4 years. Cooper goes to work with me nearly every day. Pete has been to my home and business over the years helping me resolve issues I have encountered. If you need help then look no further. If I could give Peter a thousand stars, I would! We started using Peter for his doggie day camp services approximately 6 months ago to give our very active puppy exercise and socialization. Peter came highly recommended by a very close friend. As we got to know Peter through our bi-weekly doggie day camp visits, we observed how incredibly in tune he is with all of the dogs in his care. My husband and I are convinced he has super human powers. We refer to him as the “dog whisperer” in our household. Recently, we hired Peter for his private training services. He comes to our house and teaches us how to develop control and obedience with our goofy, energetic pup. The interesting thing about this whole experience is that Peter is actually teaching us how to communicate with our dog in a way he can understand. Our pup has been wanting to please us and follow commands, but we were going about it in a way he couldn’t make sense of. I am being completely honest when I say that Peter has dramatically improved our lives. After only two training sessions, our puppy is listening to us in a way he has never done before. He is a happier pup because he understands us and we are so happy to have more control of him. Peter has a very systematic way and easy to follow method of teaching us how to handle our furry baby. I highly recommend Peter and his services to anyone who needs help. In addition to his superior training skills, Peter is just an all around stand-up guy. He has been extremely flexible, easy to schedule appointments with, and reasonably priced in the industry. More...

Q&As

I love dogs! I love helping people understand what really is going on in their dog's world of perception as it is quite different than ours.

I left the corporate world after ten years out of college to work for entrepreneurial friends of mine. It was an enlightening experience of self growth and motivation. Once I was "free", I branched out on my own and never looked back once I made the decision!

I know dogs. I understand their psychology and can translate how they perceive the world to come up with a routine and plan that fits into each person's lifestyle, not become an aside to it.

Some, but not all issues (such as potty training) can be done remotely since it's all advice. Other issues, however, require hands-on guidance so it has its uses, but they are limited. An assessment is best to decide.

I continue to follow CDC guidelines and protocol and respect client's requests on how to proceed at their comfort level.
