Our evening with Aaron Baca was so much more than dinner and a magic show. It was a moment in time to experience an array of emotions. We were totally amazed and speechless by his talents. His show was that of a well polished professional. I still can't figure out how he did what he did. His ability to connect with his audience reflects the charisma of a genuine southern gentleman. I recently attended my 40th conference for CHART, the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers, and I have sat through all kinds of entertainment on the closing nights. Live bands, comedy, karaoke, casino activities...I've pretty much seen it all. And when I heard that this time around it was going to be a magician, I’ll admit I was pretty skeptical. I really wasn’t sure how that type of act would land in a large room filled with boisterous trainers who are used to being active.But Aaron quickly won me, and everyone else, over.His magic was incredibly impressive, his comedy felt natural, and most importantly, it wasn’t background entertainment at all. People were engaged (especially when he brought attendees up on stage), and clearly everyone was enjoying themselves. That’s NOT easy to accomplish with a crowd like ours.Aaron also thoughtfully connected the closing of his act to our conference theme of “Be the Spark.” He didn't do it in a heavy-handed way, and thankfully it didn’t feel like a slogan he inserted at the very last minute. Rather, he made it feel like a genuine extension of what we had been talking about for the past few days when it came to the importance of our roles as hospitality trainers.I would absolutely recommend Aaron for anyone planning conferences or leadership events who is looking for something that’s both engaging and meaningful. Aaron Baca was an absolute standout at our conference and is hands-down one of the best performers I've ever seen at a professional event. Before the session even started, he was already moving around the room doing close‑up magic at each table, and it completely pulled us in. Once he got on stage, his personality, humor, and storytelling lit up the entire room. People were laughing, in awe of his skill, and fully engaged, which says something after two full days of training.What really stuck with me was how genuine he is. Aaron closed our CHART 109 Conference in New Orleans, and it was exactly the right way to end two full days of learning. The magic and comedy were sharp, engaging, and perfectly calibrated for a room full of hospitality leaders. People were laughing, leaning in, fully present. You could feel the energy lift without it ever feeling chaotic or disconnected from the purpose of the event.What impressed me most was how intentional the experience felt. After two days of content-heavy sessions, Aaron struck the right balance of levity and meaning. The room needed energy, but it also needed reflection. We host a Halloween party every year and usually have a magician. The one we hired this year backed out last minute, and thankfully Aaron was available to step in. I couldn’t have asked for a better replacement. He had the whole crowd hooked from start to finish, and people are still talking about how incredible he was. Several guests told me he was ten times better than the magician we had in the past. I’ll admit I was a little hesitant at first since his rate was higher than what we’d paid before, but he was absolutely worth it. We wanted to do something extra special for my grandson’s Halloween party this year, so we went all out with decorations, lighting, and even hired a DJ.
