We offer event planning services including weddings, special events, corporate events, parties, and galas. We also have a Meetings and Conferences division, as well as venue sourcing.
Our service area is based in Portland, Oregon and serves Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Some examples of our event locations include Oregon Coast; Salem; Eugene; Corvallis; Mt. Hood; Hood River; Bend; Willamette Valley; Seattle metro; Olympic Peninsula; Puget Sound; Olympia, WA and surrounding areas; Vancouver, WA; and South Puget Sound.
We are a destination event and wedding planner traveling to any location needed by the client.

What do you love most about your job?
I love that moment when everything fits together like a puzzle dropping into place. I love watching from the wings while yet another successful event unfolds, and guests are happy, well-fed, and connected -- having a wonderful experience they'll remember always.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I saw an opportunity in the hospitality industry to bring my knowledge of hotels and catering together with a calm and logical bearing that was very different at the time from the highly dramatic and performative events services that existed in 1999. It has worked because there is definitely a client base out there that values our calm, logical, systematic approach that is coupled with a loving attention to authenticity and the details of each client's personal story and what they're bringing to the event.

Venue Search Services
Let's face it, finding an event venue can be very confusing. Some locations charge a seemingly-low rental fee, but then you have to bring in (and coordinate!) a lot of rental equipment like tables, chairs, dishes and linens, and the ever-growing list of hidden costs is worrying. Some locations seem to have everything, but have a food and beverage minimum and you wonder if you’re going to be able to meet it. And some locations have a high rental fee, off-site catering and you still need to get rentals, kitchen equipment and Lord knows what – making these sites seem undesirable...Or are they? Enter EJP Events. We are an event and wedding planning company based in Portland, Oregon since 2002. We know just about every venue in the Portland metro area, and have planned events at hundreds of locations, so we know what things cost and what a real wedding budget looks like. Most importantly, after a short consultation with you, we’ll be able to suggest your perfect wedding or event venue based on your purpose and budget. Name your budget and we give you the right locations to consider. Imagine having everything done for you. Imagine getting a list of venues that would be just right for your wedding, without having to spend dozens of hours on the internet and playing phone tag trying to get a hold of the right person at the right venue. Imagine having a trusted advisor create a spreadsheet for you comparing all your venues side by side so you can see down to the last dollar and criterion, which venue will be the best one for your needs. It sounds great, but what does all this cost? - If you will need a hotel for your group using 50 or more room nights over the course of your event (for example, 25 total out-of-town couples, singles, or families for 2 weekend nights), and you will allow EJP Events to coordinate and commission your hotel contract, then there is no cost for our venue search services, even if the wedding or event does not take place at the hotel. EJP Events is a member of American Express Global Business Travel’s Independent Consultant network, so just like a travel agent, we can book hotel rooms and other travel services for you at no charge to you. - If you don’t need a hotel, we can provide an up to 2-hour consultation to go over your budget and wedding vision, and then provide you with a researched list of venues that will be perfect for you, for just $175. You are then well-equipped to go out and get the best venue and do the rest of your planning on your own. - If you plan on using EJP Events for partial or full wedding or event planning, then venue search is included in our planning duties. Planner fees are custom quoted on a per project basis. In general, full-service planning from six to twelve months prior to the event is charged as a flat fee in the form of a retainer; plus any costs of materials and labor. Day-of coordination programs are available as well. Individual consultations only (without coordination presence on the day of) are available at an hourly rate, with a 2-hour “kickoff” consultation starting at $175. We are happy to design any combination of the above systems that will work best for you. No two events are alike, so we love to customize! BENEFITS We work with you and your venue, and any service providers you have already picked out, to support and execute exactly the type of party you want to have. We collaborate with your vendors of choice, or we can help you find the products and services you need from our slate of trusted providers. Recent Work: Gala for Engineering Firm
We recently produced a 50th anniversary gala for an engineering firm with offices in Portland, Seattle, Eugene, and San Francisco. Many of the employees in the different offices had never met, and the event was tasked with both bringing the various teams together; and celebrating the past, present, and future of this respected engineering company. Recent Work: Destination Wedding for a Busy Baltimore Couple
I really enjoyed working with Gina and Abhi on their destination Portland wedding. These were two busy East Coast professionals with little time to plan, but the desire to have a big celebration for family and friends, most of them based on the West Coast. Portland was the chosen locale, so we were able to help them do absolutely every detail needed for a modern, elegant, glamorous affair in just six months. We handled finding every single vendor from the venue to the local Portland chocolate and tea favors on the reception tables. Obviously the more time you have to plan, the more deliberate you can be about your choices, but we pride ourselves on being able to help busy people streamline their decisions while still checking off all their wants and needs, and of course, having a great event. Recent Work: Venue Sourcing for Portland Retro Gaming Expo
A longstanding Portland favorite public expo for classic and vintage arcade games brings in dozens of speakers and panelists. EJP Events assisted the client in today's changing hotel landscape, to negotiate and book their hotel room blocks, netting several thousands of dollars in savings, adding risk protection against cancellation and attrition fees to the contract, and gaining important benefits and amenities such as complimentary room nights, loyalty point bonuses, and room upgrades, for their executive team.
