We used a previous training school for our dog and it was a horrible experience, they were critical and did nothing to help the issues we were having with our newly adopted dog. I looked on line and found KV dog training, sent out a request and it was answered immediately, I went over with Kim the issues we were having with our dog and she assured me they could be fixed, we met at the park, I was nervous bc my dog has zero focus and it was so busy that day, by the end of the lesson, other dogs, kids, joggers people on bikes etc could go past him and he totally ignored it, next lesson we did was at my house, we worked on leash manners again, at the end of the lesson totally different dog! We did another lesson yesterday and each time I see such huge differences, Kim gives you everything you need to get your dog to where you want it, you just have to make sure you follow through, after the original lessons we signed him up for with the total disappointment, I was so nervous to try again, but after using KV dog training I look forward to every lesson! Kim has been the best! We started with a scared mini labradoodle that was very timid, to a brave little baby! Kim helped my partner and I actually understand how a dog thinks and what they need. Kim helped us to understand how a puppy thinks, and how important it is to set limits. She was very helpful in explaining how we need to keep him contained in smaller spaces to help him feel secure and help him with his pad training. We would definitely use her again!

Kim was wonderful! She was patient and answered all of my questions and she had great suggestions on how to get my dog to walk on a leash without pulling me, gave me tips on being a first time dog mommy AND came prepared with a collar that she gave me at no additional cost. Once my dog settles in a bit more and we have walking down pat, I plan to have Kim come back again and again for other training tips. What I liked best was that she teaches ME how to train my dog myself because it strengthens the bond, which is exactly what I wanted. Helping people and their dogs have a successful relationship.
What inspired you to start your own business?
. I own an aggressive dog and that led me on a search for a trainer who could help me with training as I was over my head with her.I became a student of foundation style training after having amazing results and this inspired me to become a trainer and share my knowledge and experience with people who share a love of dogs and want a better relationship with them.
Why should our clients choose you?
I teach the client how to train and handle their own dog.I’m also going to teach them what appropriate leadership is to help strengthen their relationship which is extremely beneficial especially in behavioral cases.I feel this is the most well rounded style of dog training it allows the owner to develop the necessary skills to work with the dog as a team and makes the bond even stronger as they learn together.

I can do zoom lessons but I feel that in person training is the optimal way to learn for the majority of clients .Consultations can be done online if the client prefers but in person training sessions will always be superior in my opinion.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I’m vaccinated and boosters are current and I practice hands off training. I teach the client to handle their dog and there’s generally no need for me to take the leash.

Pet sitting
I offer pet sitting on a limited basis to pet owners in a 8 mile radius to Hopewell Junction.
