About

My name is Alexander Gray and I have been in the personal training business for 5 years. My journey started after I had a career ending back injury playing professional Baseball in Japan. Having the frustration that comes from a injury that seemingly nobody can help is a hard reality to be in and I took it upon myself to figure out my own body.

Personal Trainers

right fit for me, good background with PT and training

Alexander was the best personal trainer I’ve worked with and did an amazing job isolating the various muscle groups and exercises I had questions about.

I started training at one of the top luxury Equinox gyms in NYC with Alexander sever months ago. He’s extremely professional, welcoming and incredible at curating the best training sessions for my goals! He also has years of experience and knows exactly how to motivate his clients while addressing any of their concerns. I’m so grateful that I finally found one of the best trainers in NYC. Looking forward to my next session! More...

Alex is the best! I had torn a rotator cuff and not only did he help me avoid surgery but we also focused on other areas that I could improve on. He keeps it light and fun. Highly recommend!! More...

I am so grateful to be working with Alex! I found Alex after suffering from a chronic injury for years. I would work out only to aggravate the injury again. I am now in the best shape of my life. His intimate knowledge of injury rehab coupled with his kindness and encouragement make him unique. I love our sessions! More...

Q&As

I help my clients achieve their fitness goals by understanding what the lifestyle they live is. Besides the personal goals of toning, building muscle, getting on a routine, its important to see what else is going around that so we can tackle any objections that might make it harder to be consistent in their fitness goals. Whether that's work and finding the best time, or sleep/social life, its important for me to know the little details because adjusting those pushes us just a little bit more to getting to those goals quicker and smarter.

Consistency over pushing yourself to the limit. Sometimes less is more, and being able to find the right harmony to give our body a break but push it when it needs to be pushed is the secret.

The thing I love about my job is not just seeing my clients happy with how they look, but how they feel and have the confidence to go and tackle new challenges in life.

After being injured and no answers, it felt like I just had to accept the reality that I was messed up for life or that I will always just feel this way. That feeling is something that is incredibly tough to deal with and after being able to fix my own injuries and change that perception I had of myself, I want the same for others. To have them feeling great about themselves whether that's through fixing a injury or finally losing the weight you wanted, or finally being able to look at themselves and smile, I know that I can help and that is what inspired me.

I don't treat personal training as just a transaction. Everyone has things they deal with outside of training and for them to use part of their daily time and spend it with me makes me motivated to not only give my best service but lighten the load that they carry on a day to day basis.

I provide online services as well, currently I work still remotely with professional athletes and am very use to the online methods.

Whether its online training or making sure we have clear communication of who we have been around and personal hygiene, I train clients in private studios that are well maintained and clean with limited access.

Services

This training focuses on building muscle in the areas you would like while focusing on nutrition and cardio. The difference of this training is how we program what exercises we do and the reps. We have a lot more tracking in this training to best optimize exercise progression and focusing on weak areas we want to grow/tone.

This service is for clients who have experienced or are currently having pain, posture/movement limitations.

This training involves teaching you how YOUR body works and learning the root causes of your movement dysfunctions.

After going through Physical Therapy it can be a tough task to come right back into the gym. This service is for currently injured/post Physical Therapy people who are still hesitant/not sure what exercises they can do or should do. This training service focuses on making sure we don't bounce back to injury and correctly recruit the right muscles in all the exercises we do to continue to build after PT.

As a athlete that still competes in Hyrox events and Marathons/Tri-Athlons, I offer individual coaching in this field.
With over 4 years training high performing athletes, the sports training is for clients who have more sports oriented goals such as marathons, Hyrox events, or Tri-Athlons. This training focuses on getting as agile and powerful as you can while integrating sports specific movements.
