The 40 over 40 Experience with Jo Ellen Verna Portrait, If I've learned nothing in life over the years, the past four years I've learned to step outside of my comfort zone and do things I would never have dreamed I would ever do, whether it be a new job experience, a new life or a new me! This past weekend I took another leap of faith outside my comfort zone to open myself up to be photographed by a professional photographer. It was a wonderful, fun, and exciting experience. I encourage everyone to do this for themselves it can change how you feel about yourself! My experience with Jo Ellen Verna was wonderful, she took away all of my inhibitions the moment I met her and was greeted with a warm hug. What do you love most about your job?
I love watching people see themselves differently. Whether it's one executive or an entire team, there's always a moment when someone looks at the back of the camera and says, "That's actually me." Seeing confidence grow, colleagues encourage one another, and people leave feeling proud of how they're represented is the most rewarding part of what I do.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Photography gave me the opportunity to combine two things I love: creating exceptional experiences and helping people feel confident in how they're represented. After years in the event industry, I realized I was just as passionate about the people as the event itself. Today, I bring that same hospitality and attention to detail to every headshot session, whether I'm working with one person or an entire organization.
