What inspired you to start your own business?
Our inspiration to expand Signal Security into West Virginia was strengthened by our commitment to service and doing more than the industry standard. Between Barb Alekna and myself, Greg Pencosky, we have decades of educational and professional experiences that have cultivated a passion for developing industry leaders and serving our communities in ways that truly make a difference. Unfortunately, the security industry in West Virginia has faced challenges such as outdated government regulations, repetitive standards, and lacked sufficient training of officers.
Recognizing these gaps, we saw a unique opportunity to expand Signal Security’s advanced technological solutions to both urban and rural areas across the state. We were confident that by integrating real-time reporting, fostering trust, and harnessing the global recognition of the Signal Security brand, we could offer a level of care, protection, and service that far exceeds what has been previously available to businesses across West Virginia. But more than that, our driving force was the desire to build a business that not only safeguards people and their assets but also actively contributes to the safety, growth, and prosperity of West Virginia.
