Hi! My name is Tracy Sutton and I am a Nutrition and Fitness Coach. My approach focuses on and integrates several key factors of one’s overall health when creating a client‘s health and wellness program: exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress level, self-care, medical conditions, etc. In order to achieve weight loss, the right food plan to combat a medical condition, increase muscle mass and/or tone/firm, the whole picture has to be considered. Even if increased stability and flexibility are the client’s goals, an integrative approach has to be taken in order to make progress in these areas.

I am originally from Alexandria, VA and moved to Los Angeles about9 years ago. I played sports consistently since I was 7 years old...soccer, basketball, swim, field hockey, track and softball. I got my first gym membership at 16. And going to the gym where the focus was on the body - what you do to it and what you put in it - was a different beast though. My love and excitement for understanding, strengthening and transforming the human body took over. Exercise and nutrition became a huge, driving force in my life. In fact, I decided to compete in a figure competition (that's me in the pic below) in my twenties. That's when my relationship with nutrition and exercise changed forever.
Nutrition, for me, had always been about losing weight: calories in vs. calories out. After training for my first competition, working with a professional coach and then going on and getting my own formal education, I realized that nutrition was responsible for far more than what I truly understood. Certain foods can make us feel lethargic. They can affect the color of our skin, the amount of water that sits between our cells and our skin (giving it that puffy or bloated look), our sleep quality, our energy levels, our moods, our hormone production, our organ health, etc. Nutrition is responsible for so many things. And to me that is exciting because it means we have the capacity to affect so many things. Yet, nutrition is really only part of the equation when it comes to the human body and maximizing its potential.
Exercise is another significant part of that equation, along with sleep and stress levels, which I won't address here. Working out was always my natural antidepressant and still is! Yes, it helps to keep us physically fit, have a higher metabolism, better cardiovascular health, lower blood pressure, etc., but certain chemicals (dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine and endorphins) released in the brain is what keeps me, personally, coming back. I also love what strength, functional and stability training do for my overall aesthetic appearance. I think that's what makes most of us motivated to exercise!
My goal is to continue to improve my health and overall well-being, as well as others, on a day-to-day basis by making the best choices possible. I enjoy working one on one with clients as well as coaching them online. Whatever allows me to do what I am passionate about and help people change their lives for the better is where it's at for me!!
