I've been working in the fitness industry for 15+ years. I am a teacher, counselor, and personal trainer. I know this is more mental than physical and I will help you reach your goals! A healthy diet and exercise plan are important, but your mood and mind play a big part in a healthy you! I give all my clients a free first session to see if we are a good match. If you are comfortable, love your workout and decide I’m the right trainer for you, I offer; monthly measurements, a body-fat analysis, food plan, weekly food diary, and workouts I want you to complete on your own. I’m known to send my clients motivational texts and pictures as well to try and keep them on track.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

I help my clients achieve their goals by making an individualized action plan which includes a workout plan, food plan, and a schedule if needed to try and fit it all in!
It isn't easy being a mom and trying to juggle a full-time job with a family life. Being a full-time working mother can lead to feelings of guilt and stress because of divided attention between work and family. Once you've checked off work, childcare and running a house there never seems to be enough time left for much else - least of all you!
If you are used to putting others first it's hard to prioritize yourself, and not feel guilty about it. Taking time of yourself has psychological and physical benefits. If you give yourself a break you'll feel refreshed and happier. If you don't have 'me time' you can get resentful of your significant other and children. When we don't make time for ourselves, and make healthy choices with food and exercise, we end up not liking how we look and feel. This affects our self esteem, and of course everyone everyone else in the family.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

The key is to focus on a plan, get organized, and find the right balance between work, family, and yourself. When I'm working, I feel like I should be with my kids, but when I'm with my kids, I feel like I should be working. The guilt doesn't stop, so stop feeling guilty! You can be a great mom, successful in your career, and make time for yourself to be healthy! The happier you are with yourself, the happier your family will be with you! There will never be time unless YOU make it!

What do you love most about your job?

My passion is helping people. I graduated college with a teaching degree in regular and special education. I taught first grade for 5 years in Elizabeth and loved it! I loved teaching and helping children learn to read and write, but it bothered me that I couldn't meet all of my student's social and emotional needs. I decided to go back for my masters in school counseling. Soon after achieving my school counseling degree, I continued to take classes for my LPC, (Licensed Professional Counselor) or clinical counseling license.
Personal training and counseling is so rewarding to me because I love helping others make the change they so desire, but struggle to do so on their own. I've been training for 15+ years and still have some of the same clients I started out with. Mental and physical health go hand in hand, and I truly believe you can't be happy if you have one without the other. Working out and staying focused and committed with your food and workouts is more mental than physical!
I feel my best after a good workout and and know how important the mind-body connection are to feel good about yourself. I love helping others achieve the goals they set out to achieve as well and get joy in being a part of my clients’ journey to wellness.

What inspired you to start your own business?

When I started personal training 15years ago as a side job I loved it immediately. I was teaching first grade at the time and going back for my masters in counseling. I found that I was able to help a lot of my clients through hard times in their lives through working out as well as talking to them. Some of my clients have become good friends and I still train some of them after 15 years.
The gym I was working at part time went under when the owner sold it to someone who wasn’t truly invested in her clients. Agree it went under my clients still wanted to train. Fortunately, I just got married and moved into a house where I was able to make one of the rooms into a gym!
I love what I do and the people I help so much that it doesn’t feel like a job.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am the right dose of what you need to become successful in reaching your health and fitness goals... both mentally and physically! I am empathetic and understanding, but don't allow you to make excuses! You can do this if you put your mind to it!
