Cheltenham Running and Walking Club helps people improve fitness and make friends through outdoor exercise and 1-2-1 coaching. The Head Coach, Conor Graham has been a fitness professional since 2001 and is deeply passionate about helping more people fall in love with sports and healthy living. He coaches runners and those new to running to achieve first time and personal bests at 5k, 10k and Half marathon. 1-2-1 training services help people with: - functional fitness and mobility - strength & conditioning for sport - running technique and perfectly paced runs - injury prevention and post rehab exercise progression. Conor also helps team sports people with speed and agility as well as position specific conditioning. Conor worked with professional footballers, rugby referees and rugby players before starting Cheltenham Running Club in 2013. Clients benefit from follow along video tutorials on how to look after their body between training sessions. Online fitness programmes guide clients on what to do when training alone. Access can also be granted to walking and running group sessions. The club has over 250 friendly members who meet for up to 5 club runs per week and 5-6 walks per week. Because I have worked so many people over the years, I know how to find your current ability quickly and ensure that progress is safe but obvious. Many trainers have a very warped perspective of just how unfit their clients are and push them too hard too soon.
Yes, if there's anything lockdowns showed me, it's that I can deliver very successful programmes online. We didn't stop running our Couch to 5k or online coaching programmes because so much of the guidance and support takes place online.
We offered Zoom PT and even Virtual Club runs through the pandemic. Most of my coaching is done online or outside so Covid is not much of a threat. The Gym is use is a PT studio so there are rarely more than 4 people using the large space.
