TN Education Coaching and Mentoring Limited

Hi there! My name is Tanya, and I'm Founder here at TN Education Coaching and Mentoring Limited, and the voice behind 'Tanya - The Classroom Coach and Mentor'. I help you either as a student, a parent or a teacher to overcome the many challenges of daily school life - and life beyond the daily grind. I work with you to develop the mindset, habits and behaviours needed to make the progress you desire towards achieving your biggest goals! Who am I and what experience do I have? My experience is wide-ranging and I am here to help you: -As a personal/life coach, boosting your confidence, overcoming disorganisation and clutter and motivating you to conquer the challenges you may be facing in your life that are preventing you from really succeeding; -As a Science tutor for your Science (Biology/Chemistry) learning needs. -Ultimately, I am someone just like you! At times, it feels as if life is so busy and overwhelming that I need a hand or a word of encouragement to get the simple things done. Sometimes the challenges we face, be it in the area of learning, career/employment, relationships or just moving through the motions of one day to the next, can seem too big to surmount. And when it all seems ‘difficult’ and like life is full of disorder, I often turn to others for guidance. Having experienced the benefits of personal coaching myself, I’ve witnessed and felt first-hand the power of consistency, encouragement, action-taking and accountability. Therefore it is my intention to empower you and to equip you with the skills and tools necessary to achieve your highest desires and wildest dreams. My widest experience comes from my work as a secondary Science teacher. I’ve worked in London schools for over 14 years (and been involved in Education for over 20 years) and taught across all three Sciences during this time; Biological Sciences are my area of expertise, and I also teach Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and GCSE. Over the past five years, I’ve also had the pleasure of coaching and mentoring: young people, professionals, personal acquaintances, friends, and family members, in many different areas of their lives and across different industry areas. As a result, this has allowed me to offer personal coaching in a more professional capacity and for the past two years, this has been my focus outside of my normal teaching work. My work as a coach and mentor brings me a completely different joy (and challenge!) to teaching as it requires dynamic thinking and a type of problem-solving that you simply can't find in a textbook! Importantly, my role as a teacher – the exposure that this work gives to so many different individuals and their personalities – has given me terrific insights into the human condition and provided many useful tools for me to help you in your own personal coaching journey. So whatever it is that's been holding you back, it's definitely worth a conversation to help you get un-stuck. How can I help you? Personal coaching can be beneficial for many reasons. If you're feeling stuck in a particular area of life, be it work, career, personal or professional relationships, or just how you manage your day-to-day challenges, there is always something that can be gained from having a chat with another impartial person. My coaching is usually offered on a one-to-one basis and can range from a one-off individual session, to more extended programmes in order to fit with your desired outcomes. Any meeting can be tailored specially for your aims and you’re more than welcome to get in touch if you’d like to know more about how personal coaching might work for you. What about young adults? Tuition services are available for students at KS3 (Science), KS4 and KS5 (Biology). Mentoring and personal coaching services are available for teens and young adults as well, and these sessions can also be tailored for individuals depending on their needs. If my services interest you and you would like to know more about how we can work together, please get in touch. It would be my privilege to work with you and I look forward to helping you soon! -Tanya Nb. Coaching and tuition services are currently only offered over the phone or online via video-calling due to COVID-19 social-distancing measures in place. But that means I can help you no matter where you might be located!

What do you love most about your job?

Coaching and teaching are completely enmeshed in one core way: the unpredictable and dynamic nature of dealing with humans means that no two days (or sessions) are ever the same!

There is something to be learnt with every personal encounter. Everyone can learn from another, no matter how young or old, or how many years of experience held.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Teaching is an amazing career choice and working with people, school-aged or otherwise, is so tremendously rewarding. There is an enormous amount of energy that goes into this role on a daily basis and ‘the job’ requires dedication and commitment to be able to deliver and present content continuously.

Over time, largely because of my own personal challenges and the coaching work I’ve offered to adults, I’ve become increasingly aware of the challenges that young people face in order to just show up each day - not unlike the average adult. So I began opening up a discussion around their personal challenges, setbacks and fears - and importantly, goals for life. From this, I introduced more coaching-style conversations into my teaching work and the results and feedback hace been incredibly positive.

I'd like my work to extend well beyond the classroom, beyond the teaching of Science and beyond the 11-18 age range. I am interested in people, what drives them, what their challenges are and how, with some simple conversation, the challenges can be worked around to free someone of something that was, up to a point, so limiting to them and their progress. Ultimately, I’d like to help individuals achieve their goals sooner rather than later!

Why should our clients choose you?

I like people - a lot! I enjoy talking to people and hearing their individual stories and I pride myself on being able to develop a warm and friendly rapport with even the most difficult of characters. My listening skills have been well honed over the years. Whilst I have many years of experience, I am always learning; I don't profess to have or know all of the answers, but I will always do my best to work through a problem with you to arrive at a best possible solution. I'm here for you, whatever your needs are and I would love the chance to work with you.

Your professional life coach will be able to advise you on the full range of coaching available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted life coach today.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
