What do you love most about your job?

I am passionate about helping people free themselves of the limiting beliefs that create fears, habits, addictions and dysfunctional behaviours that make them unhappy. Whether I'm working with an individual, a couple, a child or a group, there is nothing more rewarding than witnessing the transformational change and growth that can often occur within a few sessions.

What inspired you to start your own business?

My background in Nursing in the NHS for 8 years met my need for helping people but I didn't feel valued so I moved into a corporate career which I enjoyed and was very successful. After 20years I faced a very difficult time in my life and embarked on a journey of self help and trained in hypnotherapy and NLP. From that moment, I knew I would gain the skills and knowledge to help people in the most rewarding way. Once qualified I started seeing clients (10 years ago) and gradually gained the necessary experience and confidence to go full time. My practice has grown and every day I work with clients to help them make the changes in their life that enable them to feel happy and fulfilled.

Why should our clients choose you?

I believe I have the experience of having worked with 100's of clients with all manor of presenting problems. I use the most powerful techniques in NLP, Hypnosis, and Pychotherapy to bring about meaningful change. I offer a safe, comfortable space, for people to explore their feelings, their life experiences and their challenges, with an empathic and non-judgemental listener. I believe in working in a dynamic way to eradicate limiting beliefs and then, focusing on moving forwards to achieving a positive future.

Therapist FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
