Laura Holder

I am a BABCP accredited therapist currently working within the NHS. My work involves supporting individuals from all backgrounds with a range of mental health problems, including depression and anxiety. My postgraduate training has been at UCL and Kings College London, respectively. I am most passionate about making therapy a rewarding experience for all, therefore my approach is one of transparency, empathy and non-judgement.

What do you love most about your job?

I love seeing people become their own therapists and skilled at solving their current difficulties. I feel privileged to be trusted and confided in by people from all backgrounds to support them in their journey towards recovery. Generally, I enjoy getting to know people - so this is another perk to the job.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I am wanting to offer my services outside of the organisation that I am in, and am aware that not everyone follows the traditional route of seeking support via a GP. Starting my own business means I am able to reach more people.

Why should our clients choose you?

For me, it is important that clients feel comfortable within sessions, so I value taking time to get to know you as a person. I do not conform to a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. and ensure that each therapy session is tailored to suit your needs. My style is one of warmth, compassion and non-judgement.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I am only offering therapy remotely. This will be via Microsoft teams or Zoom depending on client preference. I have access to a confidential space and ask that clients do the same, in order to ease the flow of therapy sessions.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I have shifted my work to remote/online. Through additional training, I have adapted the way I facilitate CBT online, to ensure that I am following a full course of treatment in line with BABCP and meeting NHS guidelines to protect clients from COVID-19.
