My approach is integrative, meaning that I do not rigidly adhere to only one approach; I use elements of a range of different therapies where appropriate to do so based on your own therapy needs. This includes the use of CBT, DBT, ACT and Skills Training. I also offer EMDR for trauma. As a Chartered Psychologist, I have been able to demonstrate to the regulatory body (the British Psychological Society) my ability to plan, implement and evaluate my practice, whilst ensuring that I am able to assimilate new research and evidence-base. As part of my membership to the BPS and the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) I am required to demonstrate continuing personal development, which includes regular peer discussions, reviewing the literature and taking part in training with official providers, to ensure the best service for clients. Difficulties in which I specialise include: Trauma Post-traumatic stress disorder Attachment difficulties Phobias Anger management Domestic violence (survivors and perpetrators) Anxiety Stress Substance misuse Bereavement Personality difficulties Depression Sleep disturbances Specialist approaches include: DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) Skills training EMDR CBTi (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) Individual and Group Work Recommendations, based on assessment of your needs, will be discussed with you, with goals being set collaboratively.
