What do you love most about your job?
I have always been interested in Psychology and how it can be used in a way that empowers change and awareness in individuals and in groups.
I have to be honest and say i have sat in the clients chair myself and i know intuitively how it feels to be in a place that is very distressing, painful and sometimes confusing.
I find it to be an incredible honour to be able to walk alongside the same path as my clients and to be able to facilitate change in a
very positive and constructive ways.
It is essential that i am quickly able to build a trusting and worthwhile relationship with my clients to enable them to see the way forward.
Working collaboratively in a caring, accepting and non-judgemental safe environment - Always looking at the best outcome for the person.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am very aware of long waiting lists in the Charitable and government sectors and i like to be able to offer a no waiting list policy so people in distress can access a service within days.
It can be a long and painful process for people to have to wait up to 6 months for an available slot in an agency.
The counsellors who work for ASCA are consumate professionals who have worked in very different areas of the helping professions and have been very carefully selected on behalf of all of our clients.
I have a long standing passion for my work at ASCA and believe very strongly in compassion and being there for a client when they need guidance.
