F.I.T.T. 4 LIFE

I have been in the Fitness Industry for over 22 years. I've worked in big box clubs and am now working in my own studio and freelancing... Over the years my diverse clients have allowed me to gain knowledge and become adept with many aspects of exercise ranging from client rehabilitation, injury prevention, as well as a thorough understanding of components required for Fat Loss and Muscle Gain. I have obtained numerous certifications pertaining to Nutrition, Exercise Biomechanics, Periodization, Muscle Testing, Postural Realignment, and overall Body Transformation. I also have competed in competitive Track and Field, Boxing, Bodybuilding contests, so I can understand that results take time, but consistency and discipline are the primary ingredients for success.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

In order to help clients achieve their desired goals, I start with an initial assessment of various movement patterns. No two bodies are alike and this assessment will reveal current levels of mobility, stability and various primary movement patterns. I then create a periodized program specific to the clients needs, based on my findings. I also inform the client of the metrics that we are working toward based on their age and gender. I prefer weekly check ins to assess the progress. This will ensure we are moving in a progressive direction to achieving goals and maximizing our time and effort.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Possessing 22+ years of experience in the fitness industry, I can honestly say ...there is no secret...
Diligent and consistent resistance training, hand in hand with detailed nutritional implementation, combined with cardiovascular training at a prescribed target heart rate for a measured duration, all specific to the individual, will supersede all the uncertainty and confusing jargon, guaranteeing the body of your dreams.

What do you love most about your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my profession is working with diverse individuals. No two minds/ bodies are alike, everyone is unique in their own way.
Every hour is different, and I enjoy the challenge of revealing what works best for each individual. There are no cookie cutter programs that work, because everyone is different. The benefit to my profession is observing a clients' reaction when they achieve all their goals successfully and knowing that we actually changed their life, by changing their lifestyle!

What inspired you to start your own business?

After working for a Big Box Club, I was of the mind that the company cared more about monthly revenue rather than client service.
It was a revolving door of personal trainers and I felt that it stigmatized the industry. Trainers would be hired one day, than quit the next without any true passion for the profession and without any experience or certifications.

I have always held myself to a level far greater than could ever be asked of me. With annual recertifications, trade show attendance, conferences, multiple workshops, and continuous evolution in the field of personal training, I felt that I could better guide my clients with the vast experience and knowledge that I possess. Far more than what a company asked of me in order to implement a generic program, that would keep the client guessing and keep results to a minimum.
