Although I do have qualifications in boxing, lifting, Yoga, Cycling/Spin, Kettlebells, nutrition and biomechanics my job is mainly about building good relationships so every session is fun and effective. I do prepare people for endurance events like triathlons, marathons etc but have always found working with people in some kind of joint or emotional pain as more rewarding. Most of my clients are over 40 and come to me with bad knees and backs and I am very good at assessing what exactly has gone wrong, fixing it and getting them back on the road to good health.
Fitness is not just focusing on one area - its like keeping 5 plates spinning. My methodology focuses on 4 fundamental areas - Mobility, strength, endurance and high intensity cardio. Cover all those areas in a way that compliments and not constrains the rest of your life and it is no longer an effort - and takes less than an hour a day!
Clients coming in the gym and saying things like "I used to really struggle to...drive/walk to shops/not be in pain/not be depressed or anxious but now not only do I not suffer that pain anymore but feel I am in charge of my body and can enjoy so much more of life.
Also the variety of people, I have trained 8yr olds to 90 year olds, special forces soldiers, millionaires and everyone inbetween. I really get a kick out of understanding what makes people tick and helping them to get the best out of themselves.
After 10 years in the industry and developing my own methodology there is not really another way to give the service I want to in any other way. Results and client experience is everything.
I love what I do completely, if I think someone else can do a better job I will refer prospective clients to the better option.
