I came here with a group of girls as part of a dear friend's bachelorette party totally unsure of what to expect. I'd never done any kind of pole fitness before, and of course, assumed it was all rather risqué, and not so much about athletics. Boy, was I wrong!The studio is located in a totally bizarre location (the Clyde business park, just off Carling and Maitland) but it's great for parking and is pretty central. I didn't expect much from the outside, but they've done an excellent job of transforming this studio into a fun place to work out. We were greeted by our instructor Lyne, who showed us the change rooms and our studio, The Pink Room. It had about 8 poles, and was painted a bubblegum pink. They also have a second smaller studio called The Blue Room, which they use of smaller classes. In both rooms they have a wall of feather boas and hats, which was super cute, and set the tone for a fun workout!For our hour lesson we learnt two chair dance routines - one a bit more seductive and sultry, the other one with more sass and fun. They were both really fun and Lyne was encouraging and supportive the whole time, ensuring we were having a great time. She took the time to snap photos and video for us as well, which was super sweet.Of course, we didn't get into the super crazy fitness side of it since we were there for a fun time, but our instructor, Lynne, was in insane shape, and he showed us some of the advanced moves and what they work on, and told us she completely owes her physique to pole fitness. I can see how this could be an amazing body sculpting workout, and I'm absolutely interested in signing up for one of their classes at some point. They have all sorts of different genres including regular pole (with increasing levels of difficulty), spin pole, gymnasti-pole, bootcamp, contemporary, PiYo, and of course, sexy pole! You can register online for classes on their website. Prices are what you'd expect from any dance/fitness studio, but they do have into deals for a month unlimited.
