I am from California and wanted to keep up my power lifting training while visiting family here in Minnesota. I had a really great experience with Southside Bully and trainer Mike that allowed me to train and use the Olympic equipment at the gym! Great atmosphere, really dedicated and serious members, at a gym that is equipped and efficient for anyone's strength needs. Everyone is friendly and open to advice or help you out. Will be training her always every time I am in Minnesota! The ONLY gym you will find with Olympic Platforms!!!!!!

My wife and I joined Tone 2 Day nearly a year ago and we are very pleased with the decision! The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and really supportive. They work with you if you have physical limitations to continually challenge you and do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all mentality. They greet you by name when you enter and care that you are there. We have established friendships with other gym attendees and the general atmosphere of the gym really feels more about community than just a place to exercise. Highly recommended for anyone!

I had an incredible experience here. For almost three months, I have had severe pain and tightness in my shoulder and pec. I had gotten massages, tried rehab in the gym on my own, and all the things you could try and do at home...they weren't working. I went into Fit U and worked with Keith. He figured out exactly what I had done within minutes; in fact I did not believe him at first until he worked on my shoulder and pec for a couple minutes and then told me I was done. It was unbelievable. He knew exactly what happened and he fixed it. I would recommend this place to anyone. I am not going anywhere else from now on.

Very clean gym, top of the line equipment, smart technology to help with weight management or personal wellness. Offers awesome classes (included in membership) held almost everyday except Sunday. The staff is educated and very helpful. What I enjoy the most about the staff is that they are just great motivators. They may not know it, but they sure as heck motivate me ; by just being positive, friendly and great instructors.

If you want to consider REVIEWS... all you have to look at is this company and owner has been been in business for over 20 years and two complaints. I saw these reviews and had to something: Go look at MDB Facebook for reviews and information. I have two boys that participated at MDB . My older son started around 6th grade. He not only trained there but played on MDB teams. He had an incredible experience. My other son started in 3rd grade. Both my boys went on to be excellent basketball players with my younger son playing in National tournaments with top teams, and went on to play fours years of varsity basketball. I can absolutely without a doubt say he would not have attained that success without all that training at MDB. You have to be patient and understand training goes on for years. My son liked all the trainers at MDB and most of them were incredibly inspiring. Lastly I have been a director of four different basketball programs over the last 20 years and have been coaching traveling basketball for the same. I have had four of my kids in basketball. If I did it all over again my kids would be at MDB! A great organization and supported by many basketball associations. Kevin does a superb job.
Should I work out every day of the week?
It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!
Where can I have my personal training sessions?
Pretty much anywhere! The great thing about personal training is that it’s flexible - as long as you have the necessary equipment, you and your instructor can decide to have your sessions from the gym, your home, the park, or even your office if you want to!
Does my fitness instructor need to know anything about me?
Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.
What does a standard personal training session involve?
It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!
What qualifications should a personal trainer have?
A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.
Can I get a Personal Trainer online?
Absolutely! Online personal training has become increasingly popular as more people are looking to maintain their fitness during lockdowns and gyms closing. As long as you and your personal trainer have a strong internet connection and a device to stream on like a laptop, tablet or smartphone, there's no reason why your session can't be delivered remotely.
