Becca is a warm, gentle, totally approachable and immensely gifted woman. Our paths crossed last year and through her guidance, listening and reiki sessions she has helped me remember 'me' and has given me tools on how to focus on my important stuff and not stress about the rest. I can not recommend her highly enough and I whole heartedly believe that everyone needs a bit of 'Becca' in their lives. X

Hi, I’m Kate and I’m an experienced counsellor working online or via the telephone. I work with adults based anywhere in the UK. I offer a free 30 minute initial appointment so that we can discuss what you want from counselling and where we might begin. I’ve been in practice for over ten years having qualified with a professional diploma in therapeutic counselling in 2011. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as well as being an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS). I'm also a member of the Association for Counsellors and Therapists Online (ACTO) following completion of an ACTO recognised training course on online and telephone counselling. I work with adults 18 years and over with a range a life experiences and difficulties. I also have particular experience of working with complex trauma and abuse. Working online or via the telephone might feel different from in person counselling but whatever is going on for you, particularly at this challenging time, online counselling is an option for you to safely explore this. It can provide a connection in times when you may be feeling cut off from people. You may be experiencing more longstanding difficulties and online counselling is a space for these too. No matter the medium, counselling is a partnership where we will work together to develop your understanding and self-awareness; to ultimately help you live a more fulfilled and peaceful life. I will not judge or tell you what to do. Instead, I will be there to support you in your exploration of what you bring. My approach I describe myself as an integrative counsellor which means I have had training in several different counselling theories that have become integral to my approach and how I work. I will listen to your experience and draw upon relevant counselling ideas to support your exploration. These will be offered as an invitation to help you understand your experience more deeply. I will provide a space for us to create a relationship that feels compassionate, respectful and constructive. I draw specifically upon the theories of person-centred, relational, transactional analysis, psychodynamic, internal family systems and somatic approaches. When integrating a trauma informed approach I will use the three phase model of trauma recovery. More information about this can be found on my website. We can be flexible in how we work. For example, we might use elements from mindfulness approaches as well as body awareness and somatic experience to help you notice what is happening for you on the inside. We might use more creative approaches such as writing and drawing, imagery, metaphor, or objects to explore the different aspects of your experience. We might use a more verbal approach, talking through your difficulties and exploring different perspectives. Or we might blend these approaches together. Just as your experience is unique to you, my aim is to offer an approach that will be unique and specific to you and your needs underpinned by an attentive and empathic therapeutic relationship. I offer both short and long term counselling. We will discuss together what you are looking for and what you hope to gain. Sessions are charged on a sliding scale of £40 - £50 depending on individual circumstances and take place on a regular basis - usually weekly but this is negotiable. Free 30 minute initial appointment.
There are many things I love about being a counsellor but it boils down to being able to share space with another person and work with them to help create some deeper meaning or purpose. I value the connection it invites and opportunity for living life in a more fulfilled and peaceful way.
I’ve always wanted to have my own counselling practice. Upon qualifying in 2011, I knew I wanted to gain experience and confidence first before taking this step, so over the past few years I’ve worked as a counsellor for Bristol based community organisations. In fact, I continue to work for a local charity today alongside my private practice and the two complement each other very well. Since starting my practice I haven’t looked back and absolutely love it.
You should choose a counsellor who is the best fit for you. It is a hugely individual choice and deserves to be taken with care. I would offer respect, compassion and sincerity to you and our work together. Just as your experience is unique to you, my aim is to offer an approach that will be unique and specific to you and your needs underpinned by an attentive and empathic therapeutic relationship.
I am working exclusively online or via the telephone. I use a secure and encrypted video conferencing platform called Doxy.me for online counselling and should you choose to make contact, I will provide more information and guidance about how to access it.
The first meeting may feel like a daunting prospect and you may feel uncertain about working online so, to begin with, I offer a free 30 minute initial appointment for you to see how it feels. This will also give you an opportunity to ask any questions. Together we will start to discuss how counselling can help and where we may begin.
I am working online or via the telephone in order to minimise risk and ensure that all clients remain safe when accessing counselling with me.
