Paul is a highly experienced creative advertising photographer, covering all fields but in particular food and drink. With over 30 years at the highest level of the industry, he brings a wealth of creativity and knowledge in image capture, post-production and design to your project. Previous product photography clients range from luxury car brands and food retailers through to electronics, drinks brands and all things in between. Paul has shot over 700 hospitality venues, chefs and menus in the last few years from Michelin starred restaurants, gastro pubs and hotels to bars and cafés. His work is published throughout the UK and beyond and can be found in cookbooks, food guides, websites and all forms of advertising, marketing and social platforms. I took my first photograph when I was 2 years old, that was a while ago! Many things have changed in the photographic process in that time and over the years I have worked with some of the best people in their respective fields both on large format film and now digitally.
Creatively however very little has changed, whatever you do and however you do it you are creating a two-dimensional image within a coffined space and shape.
I love the simplicity of that.
Think of how a simple curve might be placed within a square, even a subtle change of position can affect the composition and thus how the eye instinctively travel around the image. Add to that nuances of light, colour and tone and you can see the possibilities are endless. Producing an image that achieves its goal both commercially and creatively is something I still find very satisfying.
For 10 years I worked as senior Producer and Photographer for Packshot.com and Fashot.com the most prolific imagery producers in Europe. This was a role that often meant managing the creative process on very large projects using large teams and budgets. Whilst many of these where highly exciting and the client list stellar it often kept me away from being behind the camera myself. I decide it was time to get back to what I have always loved most about photography – creating the imagery myself.
Other than my experience and creativity I am extremely hard working, diligent, down to earth and practical. I’m friendly and flexible and can shoot at your premises as well as in studio or on location. Pearl and Jason were absolutely brilliant! Made us feel at ease during the photos before the ceremony, and were brilliant getting all our families and friends together for the group photos. Everyone were complimenting about how friendly and easily approachable they were throughout the whole day.

Where do I start. This was my first time using Bark so of course I was very nervous but from the first time I spoke to Nigel I just knew that he was the one we would work with. He came across confident and very knowledgeable about his work. He asked questions to get to know me and my partner and what type of wedding we were going to have then went on to suggest a few ideas. He was also opened to our idea and opinions/concerns. The day went so smoothly and all my guest commented on his professionalism and how funny and interactive he was which made everyone feel at ease. The shoots were all phenomenal and I know for sure that we will stay in contact and defo have Nigel take other beautiful shots for all our occasions. If you are thinking of hiring Nigel as your photographer please just do it. You won’t regret it. Thank you Nigel for being a big part of our wedding
