Modern Outdoor Living contacted us after posting our Backyard renovation job on Bark. Danny came to our home and we had a really good conversation about budget, timelines, expectations and our "vision". Neither my partner nor I had ever done any type of backyard renovation before so we were complete novices. Danny was really patient, obviously knowledgeable, experienced and most importantly; reliable and consistent. He was able to answer our novice questions and guide us in the right direction. Certaining daunting aspects of our project (a drainage easement and sloping ground) did not phase him and he came up with a neat and compliant solution. When work started we watched Danny's subcontractors start and finish exactly according to schedule. The job took about 8 weeks and during that time all of the staff on site worked hard, were respectful of our home and took pride in the quality of the result. Our family became good friends with the regular faces working in our backyard throughout the project. As we neared completion it was obvious that Danny had really captured what we were looking for; we stayed on budget and despite delays from a window supplier the job was complete and ready for summer. We also worked with the Horticulturalist recommended by Modern Outdoor Living and our brief for "low maintenance natives" was planted as we requested. Watching the plants thrive and recede over the summer to winter transition has made our backyard so much more than we had previously. Thanks to Danny and his team from Modern Outdoor Living and Nick from Nick Brewin Design. We would not hesitate to use you again and recommend you to anybody else looking to transform an outdoor area in their home.
