I get a lot of satisfaction from working creatively with the natural world. The plants and environment in itself are an endless source of inspiration. I like how I can take a single garden view, or a plant and enhance it through matching textures and colours.
I also like the drawing process and imagining how one might feel in the environment I'm designing. There are so many aspects to consider and to decide how all the different elements will work together in one harmonious whole. It's a lot of work and it can be tiring sometimes, but it's never boring.
I think most designers want to have their own brands so that their unique style gets to shine. Coming from an engineering design background I was confident about solving the technical aspects of designs, so I didn't see a reason why not to work with customers directly.
In my work, I mainly help people with the preparation of landscaping plans for lodgements with councils.
