What do you love most about your job?

Therapists are often entrusted with their clients' personal stories, feelings and, perhaps, even their innermost thoughts. I appreciate the privilege of being in that role for my clients. I find value in connecting to people, and being alongside them in their therapeutic process - whether that means coping with anxiety, facing change, adjustment to circumstances, or personal self development.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Simply put, it was a natural step for me to go into private practice as I had the qualifications to do so, and also because I preferred the idea of working for myself rather than for someone else.

Why should our clients choose you?

This is a leading question, precisely as it's asking therapists to thrust themselves forward to show how they are better than anybody else. I think we need to bear in mind that finding a suitable therapist is not merely a matter of technical expertise - as might concern someone who was looking for a carpenter to make a piece of furniture. In practice, the therapist has to have some personal qualities which you can only begin to judge when you meet up for an initial session. You have probably found the right sort of therapist if you get to feeling you can trust them, are able to be more open with them than you usually are with other people, and get the sense they actually understand you. For myself personally, I will only say that you might get the benefit of my experience, as I have been a therapist for 20 years.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, I can do sessions online using Skype, or alternatively by using other apps such as Microsoft Teams.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I have an air filter machine to clean the air of my consulting room. Also, I have a non contact, infrared, thermometer in order to check the temperature of my clients (and myself) - if required. Finally, I have antibacterial hand gel, in case clients wish to disinfect their hands.
