The thought of counselling can be quite daunting and it can make you feel nervous and exposed. Angela is empathetic and compassionate and makes you feel like you are chatting to a good friend. She deals with your problem appropriately and gives you more self confidence and awareness. I would recommend her as an amazing and very professional practitioner. She has helped me through many dark and challenging moments in my life. I wish her luck with her new practise.

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic counsellor and gained my qualification at the Northern Guild for Counsellors and Psychotherapists, one of the most prestigious organisations in England. I initially qualified as a hypnotherapist and further developed my skills in Person Centred therapy and Transactional Analysis (TA) therapy. I work very much in the here and now and pride myself on being an excellent relational and intuitive therapist.

We have visited Mack's Place several times since their opening. The seafood is wonderful with a variety of choices for breading (even a gluten-free option). The clam fritters on the appetizer menu took me back to childhood on the Cape. The steamers were awesome and not sandy at all! My husband loves the Fire Cracker Burger. The fries are crunchy and not soggy...I loved that! The business is family owned and operated and the staff is really friendly. Its an open concept dining room so very family friendly but don't expect privacy or intimate dining. I disagree with the 2-star below as I HATE ketchup on the table because its unsanitary and a million people touch it and it should be refrigerated. And unless I'm in a fish market, I don't want to see the lobster tank. They smell and its not appetizing in a dinner setting so thanks for having it in the back! There are tons of different options for everything they make, whether is spicy sauces, different rolls/bread for burgers and sandwiches and the desserts are fantastic! We expected a traditional pizza and sub shop and got a whole lot more...thankfully, so very different from what was there before.Keep up the good work and thanks for feeding the masses!

My passion in life is people, from a very early age I was interested in understanding what made people tick. It is this passion that has propelled me into making a making a career out of helping people. My qualified approach is Person Centered Counselling, this style of counselling believes in the ability and qualities of an individual to determine what it is that will make them feel better.

Hi, my name is Ann and I am a person-centred counsellor. I work with clients with low self-esteem so they can increase their self-confidence and start to create the life and relationships they want. Would you like to stop people pleasing or feeling guilty when you do not do what others want? Do you want to stop feeling like everyone else’s feelings come before yours? Do you feel confused, unloved or insecure in your relationships?

I am an accredited member of The National Counselling Society and work with people with anxiety, feeling stressed or who have suffered a loss or Bereavement. I am a trained Anxiety and Bereavement Counsellor. I work in Chester Le Street or if the client has a need for me to see them in their own home, this can be discussed.
I have had the privilege of being able to support many people who have contacted me for help when they were struggling because of their high level of anxiety or finding life difficult after suffering a bereavement or significant loss. Seeing people regain control over their life is extremely rewarding.
6 years ago while workIng full tIme in social care, I began to traIn to be a Counsellor because I enjoy helping others to work through their problems and feel better about themselves. I have supported many people over the past 3 years.
I am easy to talk to, always interested in understanding what each client’s difficulties are, I am a very good listener and very flexible. I always try to meet at the time and in the place which best suits the client. I am trained to be able to make use of a number of different types of counselling approaches which means that I fit my counselling style to match the client rather than using the same approach for all. I am also very experienced supporting people across a range of need such as people who are on the autism spectrum, people who have a learning disability, people who are Carers or people who have a Dementia. My fee of £30 an hour is amongst the lowest available locally.
How much does Counselling cost?
Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.
What should I expect from my Counselling session?
At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.
Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:
Face to face session
Group session
Phone session
Email session
Online through live chat services or video conferencing software
You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.
What should I look for when booking a Counselling session?
You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.
Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.
What issues can a Counsellor help with?
Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:
Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.
Physical health conditions such as infertility.
Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.
Dealing with difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger.
Sexual identity issues.
Divorce.
Redundancy and work issues.
Phobias and fears.
Can I get a Counselling Service online?
Absolutely! Many Counsellors provide their services remotely via an online video call or the telephone. Not only is it more convenient, but it's also the preferable option for many people who would feel more comfortable holding the session from the comfort of their own home.
