I went here with my friends a few months ago and I decided to get the absolute hottest chicken they had and the first thing they say to me is "are you sure" so I knew I was about to eat the hottest piece of meat in the entire world and I really wasn't far off. It was really hot and I couldn't even taste the chicken because I was just focused on pure survival at this point. Next time I'm going to get the mild and see how it tastes. Mmmmm, hot chicken that's worth the trip.  My family is hooked on the fried pickles and mac 'n cheese.  The sides are perfect with the generous chicken tenders.  There are several levels of heat but for us the hot is perfect.  It's definitely spicy but not so much that you will regret it later.  If you are looking for something different,  they also have Whiting and catfish sandwiches.   Go early on the weekends because that Whiting will sell out!  I have to tell you, it is yummy!If really good, well presented, reasonably priced food is what you want, Mack's has it.  The staff is friendly, the restaurant is cozy and clean.  My family has a new favorite. We went in to support a family-owned/operated local business and we left customers for life. We love hot chicken, simple as that. As locals, we don't hesitate to drive 15-20 miles to "the competition" in Nashville when the craving hits but now, those visits will cease to a "if we're nearby, we'll go" because now, Smyrna has the best hot chicken without the drive for us BUT WORTH THE DRIVE FOR ANYONE OUTSIDE OF TOWN!Even the plain chicken tenders we got for our kindergartner turned out to be THE BEST fried chicken we/she had ever eaten. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, fully flavorful, and their house-made ranch deserves its own separate review. It may be on the saltier side but it's delicious. We also wish they served beer but that's mere feedback.Mack's is legit and I highly recommend it!For the record: if anyone docks a made-to-order restaurant because "the wait was long" your millennial-influenced instant gratification conditioning has become more of a problem than you're aware. This place is EXACTLY what I needed for my hangover! I was early to my hair appointment and got on yelp to find somewhere close, cheap, and delicious. I found Mack shack and got there and it was a cute little set up with a few options, the woman was super friendly. YUM! I can't believe I never knew this was here! I ordered the ABQ burrito without the sausage and it was fantastic. It's def spicy though, keep that in mind. If you're craving hot chicken in Smyrna, this is the place to go. This is our guilty trip, from the tenders to the half chickens, it was hot crispy juice white/dark meat. Once.. in the middle of the night.. I got a craving so vicious it woke me up.. nah, for real.. must have been dreaming about this place or something but it was a hardcore craving. .. I thought about it all day at work... I watched my clock for lunch..Then I got to get the Mack Attack in mah belly!  I got extra for dinner because they are also great the next day if you're into that kind of thing...  Staff is always happy and helpful- even when they are slammed. What a great place! We went here because their website mentioned they had gluton free options ... but not just one or two things . .. virtually their whole menu can be made gluton free. They even have a dedicated fryer for GF foods. They offer a variety of burgers and seafood that is out of this world! I had their fried scallops (which I have missed since going GF) and they were simply amazing! The portions are huge, which meant I had a second meal out of the leftovers. I also enjoyed their GF fried pickles. I didn't have room for any dessert or the GF onion rings ... guess I'll have to go back and give those a try. This was so great! Everyone was very nice. We started with the fried pickles, which were crispy, right from the fryer. We both ordered the leg quarter at the medium spice level, which was plenty hot! If you like Frank's Red Hot, this is probably the spice level for you. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender, and very juicy. Stopped by for an early lunch.  Being there slightly after 11 AM, there was no wait.  That situation changed quickly as groups began to file in after me.  My food order was out in around 5 minutes.  The quality of the food was good.  I had chicken fingers medium.  The spice level was good.  Left my lips tingling for a while after eating.  I talked to others that got Mac Attack and one said it made his ears pop from the heat.  I had crinkle cut fries that were generously tossed with seasoned salt.  The breading on the chicken was not too thick and was good.  The only downside was that it may have been fried in oil that once had fish in it, not 100% sure, the heat masked it a little.  Overall, the visit was good.  The food was good.  Support your local small businesses, so these guys will want to stick around. Before hiring MC, I had 2 other companies in the area come by and look at my wood stove and chimney after I just moved in. MC was the only one who actually pulled my wood stove OUT to look in there and see if it needed repair. Everyone else just guessed and offerred expensive bombing etc. Can't say it is broken without looking at it! They came on time, did the work, and even came back when I had an incident that may have affected the work, without charge. Because they pride their name and work!I understand about the other concerns with inspection. Introductions should go around and having one yell orders is another thing. My only interruption was one guy telling me every 5 mins what was next, and the job took all day.....   But as far as the work, so far, I have had a nice, warm and safe winter by the fire. More...

One star based on the wait alone. I've been waiting for one hour for my lunch. Don't attempt this place if you punch a clock. I'll update the review if and when I actually get to try it.\**Update - Once I received my food and got back to the office I was pleased with the quality of the food. This place is a legit hot chicken joint. To be fair it was their first week and it was pretty busy. Food at these places is cooked once you order so some waiting is to be expected. This place is awesome because it's in a pretty secluded part of Vancouver downtown but it's pretty easy to find if you know if you're looking for. I came here after looking at the reviews on yelp and it was pretty curious what a food stand will be like. At first I almost missed it but there is a stand with this girl and I went up to it and ordered a Vancouver delight. She actually made the food right in front of us and that was really cool to be able to kind of see the food come together and really see all the ingredients are being used in it. It's also a little bit torturous because you end up seeing your food and you want to eat it but you can't because it still being made and I couldn't stop myself from looking at it. In the end the short 10 minute wait was really worth it and I thought that food is actually enough for two meals but I ate it for one because it was really good.
