With our ever increasing pressures and levels of stress, its as important as ever to take care of ourselves. We so often view taking care of ourselves in a physical way, by minding what we eat and how often we exercise, but what about our mental health? It's becoming clear that our mental well-being is a vital aspect of ourselves that needs as much nurture and attention as our physical bodies.

I am a Life Coach, Counsellor and Hypnotherapist with additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy, NLP and Thought Pattern Management. I offer help for many issues in particular, anxiety, depression, confidence issues, relationship difficulties, overcoming negative behaviours such as alcohol use, anger etc. I also deal with Chronic illness, PTSD and pain and IBS. I have a lot of experience working with teenagers and young adults and currently have a workshop in schools called STOP panic STAY Calm, and my online course of the same name is available at http://positivitylifecoaching.teachable.com/p/stop-panic-stay-calm. I work one to one, with couples and in groups. When working with clients my aim is to establish not only what created their problems and why but what is going on now to that is maintaining the problem. I follow a cognitive behavioural method helping the clients understand how their current issues are maintained through the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that feed them, we then create exits from this cycle using the abundance of techniques I have to eliminate the current feelings and behaviours but also the reasons why they occurred in the first place. Hypnotherapy is a very valuable tool in this as it enables the client to make fast effective and lasting change. When working on relationships it is usual to see one or both of the clients individually as well as in a couple as it invariably the individuals issues brought into a relationship eg. past history, lack of confidence, jealousy etc that are creating the friction. Learning a new way of communication of course is also essential. Most clients start with a 2 hour intensive to enable us to get a full history, understand their past and the causes of their difficulties but it also gives enough time to get on with moving forward. After this the average course of treatment would be 6 sessions depending on the problem sometimes less sometimes more.
Seeing my clients really enjoying their lives, getting pleasure where there was pain. It is a bit like a jigsaw, they come to me with all the bits in a muddle and together we sort it all into some kind of order until everything falls into place and you have this great picture!
I have suffered a lifetime of health issues creating lots of anxiety anxiety, then about 8 years ago on crutches and registered disabled, having already spent time studying counselling and psychology, I went to my first NLP class and met a life coach. A month later the crutches were gone! My future career became clear. All the techniques I use with my clients I have experienced for myself, it turned my life around (the health problems still exist but the way I deal with them, feel about them and the past restrictions are gone) It is not the situation that's the problem it is how you respond to it, the meaning you put on it and your perception - all these things can change.
I am great at what I do! I believe the combination of methods I use provide a unique service. I would estimate that over 95% of my clients succeed in what they came to me wanting to achieve. The sessions are safe and supportive , the issues we are dealing with are serious, but the process is empowering, relaxing and enlightening, and enjoyable. No one sheds tears for very long.
