The WAY-OUT Coaching

LOVELY TO MEET YOU Hi there. I’m Dr Federica Ferrieri, a certified Life Coach and NLP Practitioner, and the owner of The WAY-OUT Coaching. Read it as you prefer – it's WAY-OUT because it helps you create an alternative (or many!) to your current situation, but it's WAY-OUT also because it's unconventional and creative. Lovely to meet you, and just go ahead and call me Fede. TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE I’m a qualified Life Coach and NLP practitioner. I have have a PhD in Foreign Languages and Linguistics, a Foundation Diploma in Life Coaching, a Diploma in Business Performance and Life Coaching, and a Certification of Practitioner in the Science and Art of Neuro Linguistic Programming. I’m a member of the Association for Coaching (AC), the Association for NLP (ANLP) and the UKCPD (UK College for Personal Development). WHERE SESSIONS TAKE PLACE I’m based in Belfast, Northern Ireland (where I also teach NLP-based courses at Queen’s University), but I offer online coaching to beautiful humans and associations all over the world in English, Italian and Greek. WHY EVERYONE NEEDS COACHING AT SOME POINT Now tell me something. It feels great when you want to drive somewhere and your GPS takes you right there, doesn’t it? But how frustrating is it when you end up in the middle of nowhere rather than outside that fancy restaurant? I know, I know. And life is often the same. Getting to the wrong place and feeling all stuck and frustrated and ‘incomplete’. Maybe you want to get away from a boring routine (“Where’s my ‘me time’ gone?!”) or some negative behaviour (“Oh, those chocolate biscuits before bed!”). Or maybe it’s about achieving something you’ve had in mind for quite a while – getting that crafty project done or finally managing to speak in front of other people or even gaining a certain state of mind (“If only I were a bit more confident, damn!”). WHAT COACHING IS ABOUT, REALLY In any case, it’s really about updating that GPS. And I’ll help you with that – I’ll help you update your model of the world (that is, the GPS in your brain) to get where you want to be. Coaching is precisely that – creating choices where you see none. Bringing you to the centre of the room if you’re feeling cornered. Opening a door in the wall in front of you. Changing that annoying voice you keep hearing all the time in your head into the most empowering self-celebrating slogan. Stagnant waters smell bad. And so do disorientation, 'stuckness' and frustration. While here at The WAY-OUT Coaching I can smell the scent of a novelty breeze, positive transformation and your own development as a beautiful human. It's called 'Eau de Self-Growth' and it's amazing. WHY COACHING IS LITERALLY FOR EVERYONE Coaching is literally for everybody who wants a change in their life. Here at The WAY-OUT Coaching I have loads of experience working with a wide range of people, including women, professionals, young adults, students & teachers, academics, self-employed folks and small business owners. And if you don’t identify with any of the categories above, then contact me even sooner. You know why? Because if I know nothing about your environment, if I don’t feel your pain, if I don’t naturally get ‘where you’re coming from’, if in a way we don’t seem to speak the same language, I’ll ask you to explain, to paraphrase, to simplify – “Try to tell me what the problem is in five words maximum” or “Explain me what you’re going through as if I were six years old”. And by explaining, paraphrasing and simplifying, you’ll suddenly realise things are simpler than what they seem. They’re easier to fix than you thought. All those letters and words and sentences were just keeping you away from the essence of your happiness. MY TESTIMONIALS And finally, I’d just like to say that if you don’t trust my word, that’s alright. I never ever get offended. But you might trust my Testimonials, so here below you’ll find some bits and bobs coming from those beautiful humans I had the joy to work with: I loved working with Federica. She walked me through the whole process in a non-judgemental and thought-provoking way. (Virginia, 34, Spanish living in NI, Business Owner and Author) On one miserable day, talking with Federica brought me back my natural positive humour. She was my Magic Mirror. Huge thanks to this brilliant woman! (Chiara, 46, Italian living in Scotland, NHS) I felt this coaching experience made a positive contribution to my sense of fulfilment and happiness in my retirement. (Joan, 66, Irish, Retired Probation Officer/Manager) Federica is fantastic with coaching. With her help, patience and guidance I was able to give myself the opportunity to look at my life, set realistic goals and achieve them to enhance my quality of life. […] I still apply the techniques I learned. I cannot recommend her highly enough! (AMcC, 42, Northern Irish, Civil Servant) Techniques which were taught to me by Federica to reduce anxiety, to reclaim a feeling of calm in stressful situations, I have found to be particularly useful. I finished […] with a newfound confidence in my ability to cope with the demands of daily life, particularly during Lockdown. (Sheila, Irish, Retired Teacher) SEE YOU SOON At The WAY-OUT Coaching I believe that being proud of ourselves and our achievements is our right but also our responsibility. Are you one of us? x

What do you love most about your job?

"Helping people", every coach will say! Sure, but what does it really mean for me?
It means help you find clarity about your potential, your skills, your deep sense of identity, your purpose in life.
In one word, help you thrive!
And I love having a laugh together during the process ;)

What inspired you to start your own business?

I am a language teacher with a 20-year experience. I love my job and my role as a teacher, but some years ago I was looking for something different, for something more - a professional experience that, instead of formally teaching something to the person in front of me, would make me help that person find what is already inside them. Their beautiful vision and mission.

Why should our clients choose you?

Because I combine professionalism and passion, structured guidance and enthusiasm.
I want you to succeed not in 'finding' yourself, but in 'creating' yourself, and together we'll go through all the necessary steps.
My Clients and Testimonials are beautiful humans who praise how compassionate yet thought-provoking I am - I can't wait to gently push you out of your comfort zone, where dreams become projects.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Sessions can certainly be organised online through Zoom, Teams, Skype or Meet. Or even WhatsApp if it's easier for you.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Sessions can be organised online, while in my office we'll be wearing a face mask and keep some safe 2m distancing at all times.

Your professional life coach will be able to advise you on the full range of coaching available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted life coach today.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
