Gwen Semenero Helbush and Where to Start, Wedding Management are by far the best in the industry around the Bay Area! We got so many compliments on our day and how everything went perfectly! When first going to Gwen about my day, my husband was deployed and we were going to settle for an indoor party, and had our venue picked, but due to the October fires that was not in the books anymore. With everyone trying to find places, I was kind of discouraged, but Gwen had asked if I had any family with property. After thinking about it, my dad’s cousin had a barn, rustic style property, and it was exactly what I had always dreamed of having! Without Gwen, I would have never even thought of this venue!
After telling Gwen just a couple of things I really wanted, because I was never really good at these kind of things, Gwen offered some ideas and everything she recommended was exactly what I didn’t even know I wanted but was perfect for me and my husband!
I also wanted to incorporate family into the reception, and she recommended the idea of having my brother make a huge wall, that we would use as our background for our sweetheart table, and have our families marriage photos on it. This became the hit of the reception and everyone was amazed, once again, without Gwen, this wouldn’t have been possible.
When I first saw the tent and lights and all the details and how perfect everything came out I was breath taken! Not only did it look perfect, the day ran smoother than I ever thought was imaginable. My husband and I did not worry about a single thing, Gwen took care of everything so we could really focus on our friends and family and each other.
I know in this day and age, we think we can plan our own weddings, but if there is one thing I learned, in order to really enjoy your wedding day, you shouldn’t be stressed of how everything flows, rather really be able to enjoy the day. I can honestly say, Gwen Helbush and team is the way to go, and my family and I are so grateful that we did so. We will forever be thankful for how much work and love they put into our day, and thanks to Where to Start, my family and I have this memory to always look back on forever!

I was referred to Chelsy through our florist J Flowers (they are the best too!!). I knew Chelsy was the one for us right away! We needed her for day of planning/set up/control of everything for our reception.
Her service prices were very competitive and within our price range, plus we could customize or add-on services if needed along the way. She got down to business immediately, staying in constant communication with me at all times, even months and months prior to the big day, making sure every single detail was accounted for. She actually LISTENS to what your vision is, contributing her original and creative ideas, which was much needed since I tend to over complicate things! She knows all of the best local vendors, and helped us hire our caterer, bar tenders, rentals, etc. I was so impressed at how many connections she has in the wedding industry. Oh, she also designed and mailed our invitations too!
Our reception site was a completely blank canvas that required a lot of imagination. I had a distinct vision of how I wanted everything to look and be set up, down to the bar area and table settings, welcome table, etc.
When we walked into our reception it was like a dream. It was EXACTLY how I had envisioned it the past 9 months, and more. We are still getting compliments from our guests who have repeatedly told my husband and I it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to.. I can't help but smile and thank Chelsy and her team for all of their hard work for that. She was so easy to work with, and helped me stay calm in times where I thought all this wedding wasn't going to happen before I went insane.
Chelsy kept us on schedule for all the important and sentimental events during the entire night so we didn't get too carried away! She served us our dinner and made sure we sat and actually took the time to eat something lol! Then came everything else from the first dances, speeches, bouquet and garter tosses, cake cutting... it all went on time and smoothly. I'm not kidding when I say our wedding night was perfect.

We had our twin babies' first birthday party (Dohl) this past weekend, and we still have people tell us how great it was. I attribute it to Color Tree Event.As a mom of twin babies, I did not have the time nor the energy to plan a big birthday party for 100 people. So we decided to hire Terry and Ivy, who are owners and operators, at Color Tree Event. You can tell they are experienced and have been doing event planning for a long time, because they have a lot of supplies, decorations, ideas, setups, etc. at their office/stockroom. I described how I wanted the headtable to look to Ivy, and it turned out exactly the way I pictured it in my head (if not better). All of our guests at the party were very impressed.They also gave me a lot of options and suggestions for decorations, setup and activities (such as games, entertainment, etc). This helps, because we had people tell us that their kids really enjoyed our party and didn't want to leave at the end.Terry also MC-ed our party, and it helped to move the event along and get the audience involved. Many people asked us who the planner was, and one of our guests even took a business card after the party. We thank Color Tree for making our twins' dohl party into a smooth one and a memorable one!

Just like the picture references I sent her, but actually even better. She went about and beyond to accommodate our drop off location and even let me last minute order a few flowers for our cake. I would recommend Ione and HAUS 353 to anyone and everyone. I couldn’t be happier with how they all turned out!
I don't even know where to start, Thomas is the most amazing wedding planner/person I've ever encountered! Without him I honestly don't think I'd have a wedding, let alone one as beautiful as what we had. Not only does he have the most wonderful taste/vision, he is also a truly wonderful companion throughout the whole process. I leaned on him and he never once faltered. I owe him so much for making my life so much easier and for providing my husband and I such an amazing experience on the most important day of our lives. Thomas is a great listener and really knows how to make your vision come to life. I would recommend him to everyone I know, even if they're not getting married (he does all sorts of occasions). He has become a dear friend to us especially after all we went through together, and I will always cherish him and everything he did for me.
I couldn’t have had a perfect wedding day without Heather! She is absolutely amazing at what she does. She keeps you on track and knows exactly when everything needs to be completed. She was so organized. I could write her anytime of day and she would write me back almost instantly. She is down to earth and so much fun to be around. I wouldn’t recommend having a wedding without her.
AMP Staffing has been really good and quite reliable. Lee is very courteous, knowledgeable, and is always on top of things. This staffing agency provides competitive rates and they are very easy to work with. When I contacted AMP, Lee gave me the reassurance that I would have quality nurses on hand. As soon as I saw Ashley's page I knew she had the exact look for my vision for my baby shower. She made it extremely easy on me. I literally just started pinning things on Pinterest & then next thing I knew the date arrived, she showed up to my house & I didn't have to do anything! Every person asked me who put together the shower & so many people told me it was the most beautiful shower they've seen! This is not the last event we will be using Ashley for & I can't recommend her enough.
Absolutely awesome! We went with Rental Ave for tables, chairs and linens for our wedding. They were wonderful to work with and went above and beyond to keep us happy. Every email was answered quickly and the day of setup went smoothly. They were punctual with drop off and pickup. The staff that did the setup worked very hard to fulfill our vision and were a delight to do business with. My husband and I cannot recommend them enough! Thanks Rental Avenue!! We love you!!
Highly recommended for anyone out there planning any event. Jason's attention to detail and his clever and creative mind can make any event successful and special. A close friend and I worked with Jason to plan a charity event for the Kidney Cancer Association. Jason helped find a venue, photographer, etc. He also organized the set up, tear down, publicity and all of the other nitty gritty details that go into planning a major event. What sets Jason apart from others is his quick wit, tenacity and genuine relationships. That's what makes him a wonderful and fun person to work with when planning an event. Every planning meeting is a blast (and you still get loads done). That's why he has relationships with vendors from all industries, wanting to work with him time and time again for multiple events. Good people attract more good people. And that's why he can take your crazy idea and actually make it work. Or tell you when it's so crazy it's not possible. He's rheemarkable!

Thanks goodness we found On Call!Our friend Hannah recommended the company after they worked at her engagement party, and I now see why. We had 2 helpers at our New Year's Eve party for about 40 guests and they were absolutely indispensible. It wasn't until the On Call helpers showed up that I could truly relax and knew that our party was going to be a hit.They were just like elves that took care of everything. They made room in our fridge for everything that needed to be chilled. They worked tirelessly to prepare the food and always topped off the plates so there was plenty to eat. When it neared midnight they had the idea to pour champaigne into cups for everyone and circulate with them. They tidied up as the party wound down so our clean up was minimal. Lynn and Cecilia were fantastic and Patti was a hero for making it happen. As a business owner myself I appreciated their dealing with the unexpected: the 2 servers who were supposed to work at our party were hurt in a car accident, and with just a couple hours to go they sourced 2 replacement helpers. Wow! That's going the extra mile. Thank you On Call.If you are thinking of hosting a party and doing it all yourself, DON'T. Let On Call help so you can actually have fun and enjoy time with your guests.

The Giggle Factory is a godsend!After six years of celebrating our child's birthday in a quiet, family-only setting, I decided to "go large" and invite her friends and classmates for her seventh. For one month I did my best, but time flew and with only one week to go, I was scrambling to organize everything.Then I remembered that one class parent recommended "The Giggle Factory".One call to the Giggle Factory solved it all! Emilia and Sandra listened to my story, appreciated what I had already accomplished, and suggested the perfect artist/performers to round out the experience.The day was perfect! The artist/performers showed up on time and did a terrific job, and everyone had a wonderful time. Dina did an fantabulous job in arranging Monster's Inc themed birthday party for my twins. She planned and arranged everything from start to finish. Attention was given to every little detail! She also helped me arrange the photographer, cake, desserts, party supplies, entertainment, etc, etc. (FYI - most other event planning teams were not willing to help with these aspects). All our conversations were via email, she promptly responded to all my queries. I was so lucky to have found her (via Yelp) and to have worked with her. She is just awesome!
I had heard great things about Jen and she was recommended to me for wedding services. She was very easy to work with, professional, and did an awesome job. The morning of the wedding, Jen and her team kept us on schedule and every girl looked stunning! I was so happy with my hair and make-up and Jen really listened to everything I wanted. I am so lucky that she was recommended to me . She and her assistants did hair and airbrush make-up for 9 adults and one flower girl. They kept things moving and when our photographer arrived, he was so impressed that everyone was ready! Everyone was so happy how their make-up and hair turned out. Grand Entrance Affairs is amazing! Ingrid brings excellent service and dedication to any event and really helped US execute our vision of a DREAM wedding. We still hear about how great and memorable our wedding was from others and it’s been over a year later! The big day went by smooth and we owe it to Ingrid for carrying out all those details for us! It was truly a dream imagined. She was personable, reliable, and prompt when working with us and that eased the stress during the planning process! We met several times and she always made herself available to us. She has excellent organization skills, is detail oriented, and helped keep us on task as well for our event. The service she provides is bar none. I could never have done it myself. GEA came to our wedding with a team and they were amazing as well. They worked well together and really complemented Ingrid’s own style and work ethic. If you need someone to help coordinate your wedding, GEA is the one to go with. It is well worth the expense. I recently used Type A Soiree for my wedding and it was the best experience! Veronica was very helpful throughout the planning process with providing referrals and ideas for our decor and theme. She was always responsive to emails and calls and was honest about her thoughts while accommodating what I wanted. She effortlessly coordinated the rehearsal and when it came to the wedding day, it went off without a hitch! She had brought four interns to help with the day and placed every decoration exactly where I had imagined it to be. Throughout the wedding she was on top of the schedule and we were actually running ahead because of the level of organization. Honestly, it was my dream wedding and I wasn't ever stressed because I knew she had it handled. I definitely recommend her and I can guarantee you, that you will not be disappointed and it is totally worth the investment!!
Michelle made this night even more special by adding all the little touches that we had forgotten about while planning it ourselves. During the last few weeks, she dealt with all the vendors allowing us to relax as our big day approached and on the day of, she made everything go as planned. She has splendid professionalism and flexibility, and her attention to detail is superior. Without her, I doubt we would have had as great of an event due to our planning.

Great service from Smart Party Rents. Maria was very patient and kind while I pondered what we needed after a memorial service. She explained the ranges in prices thoroughly. She gracefully accommodated a change in plans after the initial order was placed. She cheerfully offered to refund the difference because the new order was less expensive. Delivery and pick up of the tables and chairs was prompt and efficient. I will use Smart Party Rents again.

Rinna was invaluable on our wedding day. She was hired for her day-of coordinator services and was absolutely great to work with. Not only did she take the time to go through the wedding day timeline multiple times with us, but she also was very thorough and made contact with all of our vendors beforehand. She even took time from her schedule to help do our final walk through prior to the wedding.
On the day of our wedding, we did not have a single worry thanks to her. She and her assistant were very prompt and helped set up our venue exactly the way we imagined. She was able to help with any issues from the venue or vendors and made our guests feel at ease. Rinna was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
I have only been to one other painting class. I felt very rushed at the other place. I did not feel one else of stress and no matter how bad I thought my picture liked the instructor did not take over. One point I was practically begging her to paint the picture for me but I stuck with it and I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t even drink and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Abosutley, positively, the best vendor I have ever worked with. For all you brides out there, I cannot recommend anyone better than Liza. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Liza was during the entire planning and execution of the floral design for our wedding. I was impressed by Liza from our first conversation over the phone. She was wonderful and warm, great listener and knew exactly what I was envisioning. I would mention my cholor scheme and some of my ideas, and she knew what I meant. She did not try to take over my ideas, she enhanced them. Following our conversation, she emailed me the proposal with the pictures of what she envisioned given my guidance, and she was spot on. Liza knows design and knows flowers. My daughter recently turned 4. This is my 3rd time using this company. We had sweetpea (Michelle) she was wonderful with the kids, as soon as she arrived she got into character, played games with them, did magic. I was extremely happy. Will definitely use them again!
Olivia was wonderful to work with. Everyone loved the beautiful dessert table at my baby shower. I combined elements of the different designs online I liked to customize my own photo-op, from the background, table, displays and flower options. I would also recommend having her doing the centerpieces for one set price that covers any amount of tables. Perfect vendor for any types of parties so that you can focus on other elements of event planning.
What a great company, we are in Dallas and needed someone local to help with a tent, seating and Audiovisual. On Call was easy to work with, most if not all was done online and they were available at any time for questions. Their build crew was awesome and really helped with our set up. Would defiantly use them again when in So Cal‼️
Perfection to a T!When I embarked on the wedding planning process, I knew florals was going to be an important piece. But like anyone who has planned a wedding in less then 6 months there is so much that goes into it that without a wedding planner somethings get pushed aside. There I was almost 1 month away from my wedding when I faced with the decision on which florist to go with. When I first spoke to Jessica, besides the fact we both are Doxie Moms our conversation seemed so organic. She knew what questions to ask, gave me her opinion and helped me stay focused on one theme (Lord knows I needed it). Jess is a magician who extracted my likes and dislikes and curated/ brought to life my stunning, breathtaking wedding florals. Jessica is a god sent!! I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and Jessica felt more like my friend who had my back and was making sure all the floral details were being set up to perfection. Laurie and her team are absolutely incredible! I cannot imagine having planned my destination wedding without her expert advice and organization. She really went above and beyond and had many meetings with us to understand what we wanted and help us prioritize what was most important. She even attended our tasting to meet with us and the venue coordinator. The vendors she works with are top-notch and I knew I was in good hands after our first meeting. As we could only travel to California a few times before the wedding, Laurie scheduled all of our vendor meetings and meetings with her for the weekends that worked best for us. All we had to do was show up and say what we liked and Laurie would take care of everything else, including keeping track of all of our contracts and making sure that the vendors knew when to show up. She was available to talk by phone and responded to emails very quickly. We got great discounts on our vendors by going through Laurie. She was there for the rehearsal to make sure everyone knew what to do on the day-of and also worked with our DJ to secure A/V equipment.
The day-of went so smoothly! Laurie and her team helped me and the groom prepare and showed us where we needed to be and when. Everything was set up perfectly. We are so glad we followed Laurie's advice to do a first sighting and photos beforehand so we could enjoy at least part of our cocktail hour with our guests. We were also so happy we got live music for the ceremony. Everything was on schedule and went without a hitch! Laurie and her team also decorated our suite beautifully. Overall, I couldn't be happier to have had Laurie work with me over the last year to make our dream wedding become a reality, and I highly recommend her services to any couple!
Denis is spectacularly honest, and a master at his craft in a way that one doesn't see so much anymore. After hearing what my cousin was looking for in sound and action, he brought her to a less-expensive piano that fit the bill, even though she was ready to purchase a considerably more expensive one. When my mother was fighting cancer and wanted an instrument with which she could escape her sickness, he brought us from the showroom to a piano in the back that hadn't even had the child stickers pulled off it yet, and that's the one she fell in love with (and enjoys to this day). They move it, tune it, and guarantee it for a year. And especially for those with kids who might upgrade in the future, there's a 100% trade-in. They've got a wide range of used and new, upright and grand (and grand upright and baby grand). We never felt any kind of sales pressure, though they made themselves available to answer questions. Truly, a dream of a piano store.
