Life Coaching Process What to expect? Before you can go anywhere, you have to know where you are starting. We will have a 15 to 20 minute introduction session. We will get to know each other and find out: What your challenges are? Where you want to be? What's holding you back? Create a plan going forward. Following this, we will start our regular sessions. 5 One Hour Sessions per month primarily by phone, or in person if geographically convenient. Coaching over the phone allows you to open up more fully and provides you with flexibility in your environment. Instead of worrying about what you may look like when you get emotional, you are in the privacy of your own home so you can really focus on the work at hand. Or you may prefer to bring your cell phone to your favorite location where you feel most relaxed, creative or energized. Again, coaching is all about you – so you get to decide. Coaching over the phone also allows you to work with me regardless of the country, city or state in which you live. I will ask you questions and lead you through exercises related to your goals. By the end of each session, we will develop a homework assignment to give you a clear sense of what to focus on in preparation for our next session. Although the coaching experience is different for everyone, my clients report common outcomes. As a result of coaching, my clients report that they are better able to effect change and accomplish goals. In addition, my clients enjoy increased self-esteem, improved communication skills, enhanced relationships, better work/life balance and less stress. They are better able to make decisions and navigate the daily demands of their jobs and home lives. They have a clearer sense of what is important to them and how they want to live their lives. They feel better physically, more connected spiritually, and are finally moving forward towards definitive goals. I'm also available for email check-ins in between sessions. If you truly commit to the process, you will find that the real benefits of coaching show up between the sessions. GRIEF COACH Are you suffering after the death of a loved one? Are you sleeping? Eating? Drinking? Do you feel responsible? Are you simply going through the motions each day? Are you finding it hard to reconnect with the parts of your life that once made you happy? Small wonder. We all have a different process on the road to Healing. We all have the road to Healing, if we choose to take it. When you lose a loved one, concerned friends and family tend to see you in only one role: grieving person. That not only cuts you off from the kinds of interactions that might prove restorative, but it distorts the relationships that you ordinarily count on for comfort. Most troubling, the constant expressions of sympathy can mute your own internal cues — the ones you draw on during difficult times to restore balance, optimism and joy to your life. As your coach, I help you to reconnect with your strengths, your coping strategies and the relationships, activities and inner resources that give your life meaning. I make no assumptions about what you feel, think or want. Rather, I come to our sessions with an open mind and an ear deeply tuned to the one person who knows best how to get your life moving again: you. Together we explore your feelings, your strengths, your untapped capabilities, and the thoughts that may be slowing your healing. In tandem, we help you identify — then take — the steps that will restore momentum to your life. I offer One hour sessions by phone, or online. I work with individual clients Mon-Fri 8:45am CST- 7pm CST and am usually available for our first session a week or two after your initial inquiry.

Why should our clients choose you?

Grief Coaching is about transforming life. The death of a significant loved one is a true change agent in our lives. Sometimes we pay attention. Sometimes we hold it at arm’s length. We might even drown in the grief. But eventually we have to do the work of grief when it bogs us down. Coaching is very powerful support during times of transition. The specialty of grief coaching is to help you transition, adjust and plan your changed life in ways meaningful for you. Going through these steps of grief with a coach takes the feeling of being alone out of loss at a time you need to hear you own voice along with a supporting voice.
In the language of a Navigating Grief journey, your coach is your co-pilot. I am here to make your journey smooth, check on the details and provide insight to dangers ahead or help you find all the possible directions as you map your new course. Since I have walked the talk, my experiences provide an effective and compassionate depth to my art and process for coaching.
In Grief coaching I am able to take all the variables that your loss has thrown at you and light up the pathway to your future. A widow may need to navigate finances for the first time, or downsize her home. This comes as part of the grief itself that because her loved one always took care of these things. She may be ready to step out into the dating world or find companionship and wonders how to do this.

A parent whose child died may find the strain of loss is hurting their relationship as the spouses grieve differently. What does she want from the marriage? How has the grief changed them? Perhaps fears have come up since the loss and he is over protecting other children now, and they resent it. How can he envision harmony in the midst of pain? A caregiver facing death may be relieved for many reason, but in deep sadness and confusion. Now what? She wonders. She lost her sense of purpose along with her job caring for mother.
You and I will explore together what you want in life. You know that your loved one wouldn’t want you to be miserable, broken-hearted, sad, angry, or pining away. Figuring the way out of the hole in your heart and the hole of grief is not so easy. One step at a time, you discover ways to move forward and bring your loved one along in your heart.
