Our annual Christmas Party took on a whole new dimension this year with the addition of another “C” for “Canapés” to our theme of “Christmas Cookies, Cocktails and Carols” provided by the culinary artistry of Kelly Clancy, owner and private chef of Roadhouse Culinary. Prior to flying from New Jersey to Atlanta, Kelly provided a list of popular suggested appetizers from which to consider. We chose the following: Coconut Shrimp with Red Thai Chili Sauce Baked Brie with Cranberry Jam Mini Meatballs with Marinera Chicken Satay with peanut Sauce Crab Cakes with basil aioli Angus Sliders with Bacon, Cheddar and Secret Sauce Stuffed Mushrooms with parmesan, cream cheese, and oregano Clams Casino In order to maximize efficiency and time Kelly sent a shopping list ahead which allowed us to prepare for her arrival. She has an uncanny ability to estimate quantities and included a specific list of items that were easily found. Kelly becomes the captain of the kitchen and operates with the style and demeanor of an orchestral conductor. She is a joy to watch and assures confidence that everything is under control. But it is the result that makes the magic. Her presentation is so exquisite that you do not want to ruin it by eating. But eating you do and that completes the experience. The only description that comes to mind is… “Mmmmmmm…”! No napkins needed… Finger licking is inevitable. Our guests are still raving about her work!
