Why engage Chef Bob and Charlton's who does not prepare, cook, serve the catered event nor does Chef receive commission from any catering companies for new business? One (1) simple reason, you can walk away from Chef with no guilt. Want to do a party but don't know where to start? You engage a caterer(s) to get answers but now feel obligated to work with them because they gave you information? Why be in that position when you don't have to be? Chef Bob is an independent, event planning sounding board available for anyone in the United States with event planning questions. Yet, you have no clue what they want to do, type of food and/or cuisine, type of event and afraid to ask someone as no one wants to be seen as 'not knowledgeable.' The difference is Chef Bob. He asks questions, then listens, asks more questions and once the information is gathered, you are provided the information you need to go to a caterer. By walking into several caterers knowing exactly what you want will ensure your wedding event, rehearsal, bridal/baby shower, private dinner or intimate evening is and should always be unique, not a duplicated experience. Chef Bob is a culinary graduate, Summa Cum Laude Gold Medal of Excellence Chef with 25+ years experience with simple and combat catering, restaurants and country clubs. Sometimes you just need to talk with someone who will listen to what YOU want and provide a reality check when party planning becomes stressful. Sometimes is it nice to have peace of mind in your back pocket.

What’s your signature dish?

Chef Bob is known for his sauces, Dirty Smoked Fried Chicken, Smoked meats, Philly cheesesteaks, Smoke Gouda Grits and so much more. However, over the last 5+ years, it has been creating gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, corn-free foods that taste so good, no one knows and you won't either. However, since Chef Bob is not cooking and only providing you a sounding board, the food conversation can be anything you want!

How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?

Chef Bob asks questions. He cannot learn about you or what you want by talking about what he can do. So, if you are done with looking at lists of foods and being told what you can do rather than what you want, then it may be time to have a call with Chef Bob.

What do you love most about your job?

People and creating. Engaging with people in conversation about their party. At first, it is a reserved conversation but after asking the right questions (which we have no idea what they are), it is amazing to see what they have locked away. The creation part is what I love the most especially the looks on people's faces after a meal is the best part for me, as it is for any Chef.

What inspired you to start your own business?

To listen and do things the right way for the customer at a reasonable price.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am not selling anything but my insight and experience to provide peace of mind. How many parties have you planned that in hindsight, you wished for someone to talk to when trying to make a decision. Sometimes the cost of the conversation can save you from yourself.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

As all services are of a consulting nature, they are done remotely throughout the United States. If in the Atlanta area, it is possible to meet face-to-face, coffee on me.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

My restaurant location never closed, continued live stream music and provided occasional live music on our outside patio. We also continued table service (up to 10 people at a time per GA emergency order), takeout, curbside, patio dining, sidewalk dining as well as Parking Lot Picnic and everyone was safe. No member of our family or staff became sick in 2020 or 2021 and per changes, we continued to clean and sanitize everything (like we were already supposed to do) between diners, at the end of the night as well as opening. The only difference, we made sure that people saw us cleaning. We remained open to serve everyone in the 65 surrounding neighborhoods, Police, first responders, hospital (human and animal) personnel, and provided meals as well as other culinary preparation for our shut-in veterans, elderly and for those who no longer cooked for themselves.

Catering FAQs

Expand all

Your expert caterer will be able to advise you on the most suitable menus and service.

It is important to know the following before deciding on a catering company:

  • Event Specialists - Many caterers handle certain types of events on a regular basis, such as weddings and corporate events.

  • Different cuisines - Caterers might specialise in different kinds of cuisine. Some caterers may provide a fine dining experience while others excel at barbecues that suit company picnics.

  • Special requirements - If you have special requirements for the food or a specific menu in mind make sure your caterer is happy to meet those requirements.

  • Venue - Your gathering might be taking place at someone’s home, a venue or outdoors. It can be helpful if your caterer has worked at the venue before.

  • Tastings - Ask for a tasting to make sure the food is of a high standard. Most caterers will prepare one for you at no charge, allowing you to assess the quality of their cooking before you hire them.

You could look for caterers with a foundation degree, higher national diploma or degree in Professional Cookery and Culinary Arts.

Before you choose a caterer, you could read testimonials and see pictures of their food on their website.

You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read reviews from past customers, too.
