Understanding PT rates in 2026

Data from Bark indicates that hiring a trainer in Ireland typically costs between €50 and €150 per hour. It is important to note that rates are not flat across the country; professionals must adjust their pricing to account for regional differences in rent, facility overheads, and the local cost of living. Because market demand varies significantly between city centres and smaller towns, your quote will be uniquely calculated based on the professional’s expertise and whether your PT sessions take place at home, in a gym, or outdoors.

What is included in your personal training programme?

A great Dublin coach provides the complete package to keep you on track:

  • Truly customised plans: Stop wasting time on generic internet workouts; your trainer designs a programme built specifically for you.

  • Nutritional guidance: Many trainers offer advice on a balanced diet to fuel your sessions and accelerate your progress.

  • Expert technique and form: Learn how to move safely and effectively to maximise results and prevent injury.

  • Real accountability: It's much harder to skip a session when an expert is waiting for you—consistency is the key to breaking through plateaus.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

It's simple really. Keep them consistent with their nutrition and exercise, while trying to fit in with their existing lifestyle to establish long term habits that will stick with them for life. I do try to make things enjoyable, but not everyone I train would necessarily agree!

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Having a specific goal, consistently measuring progress towards that goal, and learning how to enjoy the journey along the way.

What do you love most about your job?

The people I meet. I have trained people from all over the world, from many different backgrounds, and it really does keep things interesting. At the moment, my oldest client is 72 years old, and he's showing no signs of slowing down!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I've always liked the feeling of being in control of my own destiny. I did go back to college for a couple of years to retrain and dabbled in the 'office job' for a bit, but I realised that working with people to achieve their fitness goals is what I really want to do.

Why should our clients choose you?

With almost 20 years in the fitness industry, I've seen what works and what doesn't. At the end of the day, a lot of it comes down to personality, and it's a very individual thing deciding who you'd like to work with. That's why I offer a free one week trial with my online Personal Training - it gives us both a chance to feel each other out and see how we'll get on long term.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, these days a predominantly do online training. Workouts are delivered through my app, or through a web interface on my website. Support is offered via messaging through my Personal Training app, as well as via email, phone calls and video calls, depending on what type of package you choose.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Remote/online training sessions! I've only just returned to training clients in a gym environment after almost 18 months doing all sessions via Google Hangouts or house visits, depending on the restrictions. Now that we're back into the gym, it's very much a case of me being the sanitiser/towel bearer, and wiping everything down before and after a client uses it.
