Three% Ltd

After 15 years with a large, international architecture practice, I began doing some private work in 2008 (as Three Percent Design), assisting a London focused residential developer (I still work with them today!) with designs, specifications, finishing packages and co-ordination services for a multi-unit build in London. It went quite well. With a growing client base of developers, healthcare providers, public organisations, private businesses and investors, Three Percent Ltd was formed in early 2013, with very little fuss, and we’ve generally managed to keep ourselves pretty busy ever since. After two years (post Covid) consulting for a London based architectural practice, Three% are now offering design and consultancy services nationwide. As well as dozens of residential design schemes, from boot-rooms to brand new housing developments, Three% are also on the preferred designer list for IHG Hotels, work on numerous healthcare, hospitality and commercial projects, and are an accredited designer for the SBID (The Society of British & International Interior Design). Whether it's with some informal advice, shared experience, creative design input, or something more involved, we're happy to help if we can.

What do you love most about your job?

The opportunity to help people. Whether it's residential, commercial, healthcare, or any other disciplines, the most rewarding aspect is always being able to turn peoples aspirations into something tangible.

What inspired you to start your own business?

It sounds like a really naff cliché but it was just a case of it being the right time. I felt that I could do more, believed I could do what I was doing better, and wanted to be more accountable. I couldn’t achieve that as part of a large studio so that's where Three% came from.

Why should our clients choose you?

A big part of the process is ensuring that a client is comfortable with the process and with me. Every project is different, each client has their own nuanced needs and aspirations, so the challenge for me is to be open and adaptable and be comfortable knowing that it's not possible to be the perfect fit for every opportunity.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Post-Covid has changed a lot of peoples/organisations perceptions about remote and in-person services. It always depends on the circumstances and what the project entails but I've delivered numerous projects, some of a significant commercial scale, without ever meeting a client in person or visiting site. That's not always possible and wouldn't always lead to the optimum outcome but, depending on the deliverables, it can be very efficient.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Whilst post-pandemic measures have eased over the last couple of years, the ability to work efficiently and effectively remotely, either fully or in-part, has allowed me to be very flexible and sensitive to any specific requirements.
