Chris is a seasoned business professional with a wealth of experience to share with his clients.
Recently Chris was kind enough to return to Northumbria University to share his experiences with our current marketing students, and his sessions were received very well by the students, with in particular his exercise on listening skills something that is central to student development irrespective of their career choice.
Chris is a thoroughly pleasant gent and his communication style means he will have no problem building up rapport with clients and aiding their development.
Offering 1-1 Counselling and Voice Therapy About me I strongly believe that talking therapies should be accessible to all and I aim to reflect this in my social pricing structure. Being heard and valued shouldn't be a luxury. Many of us face times in our lives where things just seem too much. Emotional, spiritual and personal difficulties often mount up and we can be left feeling stuck and overwhelmed. Counselling offers you a safe, non judgmental space where you can freely explore your inner thoughts and feelings in confidence. Through being truly listened to you will begin to unravel your story, where you can start to gain a greater insight of your inner and outer worlds. As a counsellor I believe you have the right... To be heard. To be valued and trusted that you are doing the best you can. To have my undivided attention while I am with you. I will acknowledge your pain and struggle; celebrating with you the fact that you are here, striving to be more at peace with yourself and the world. Knowing that you are the expert in your own life and trusting that with patience, unconditional positive regard and empathy, you will remember this. As well as being an experienced, qualified counsellor using skills and theory, I utilise many other techniques in a therapeutic context . Rather than having a one shoe fits all approach I am very much about seeing what will work for YOU. Together, we will build a coping framework to suit your individual needs. Its sounds obvious, but I love being able to help people. Through support unconditional positive regard and guidance, I am able to offer people a safe space to explore their concerns. I enjoy watching people make progress, move on and heal wounds and problems that that may have been carrying all their life.
I love it when clients finish counselling and complete an Evaluation Form and they share how much better they feel, quoting maybe little things I said or that they loved coming to my practice where they feel welcome and relaxed.
Ultimately I love being able to help, its a gift and I feel lucky that I can share it.
Based on traumatic bereavements of both parents in my childhood and teens I knew at 16 that I wanted to go into the caring profession, and started studying a Diploma in Social Care. Since then Ive worked with families, children and individuals in many roles but found myself wanting to concentrate more on 1-1 work, so I left employment and took on full time study 12 years ago. I find running my own business highly rewarding, and of course at times challenging. But thats life...full of ups and downs!
I am dedicated to my work. I feel that beyond the theory and qualifications I have a natural gift; Im empathic and supportive and believe given the right environment, folk will find their own answers within. Being able to trust me and feel at ease is paramount and all clients tell me this was one of the most important aspects of their recovery.
How much does Counselling cost?
Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.
What should I expect from my Counselling session?
At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.
Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:
Face to face session
Group session
Phone session
Email session
Online through live chat services or video conferencing software
You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.
