During the Covid 19 Lockdowns, I realized I had the capacity to help many of the parents who were struggling with homeschool. At the time I was visiting homes to tutor once a week, but this had to stop. Many of my families were a little frazzled with the daunting task of homeschool. I decided I could help and set up an online homeschool. I created my own curriculum that would work with children from Year 3 to Year 6 (through very careful differentiation and challenge) and the children joined me for 3 hours each day, online. It was the most incredible and rewarding (and completely exhausting) experience. It was after things settled back down that my partner suggested I keep it up...and Evergreen Academy was born!
My passion for teaching drives all that I do. I am very particular about the lessons I plan, how my resources support learning, how I can inspire your child and how I can use my skills to best help. It means I spend time planning my sessions carefully and use a range of techniques to ensure success, working from a basic understanding of a subject through to mastery level, always giving children opportunities to excel. I take the time to create strong relationships and bonds with my students which I feel is the key to success.
I provide all my services online and remotely using Zoom and Google Classroom. Its has been hugely successful since the start of the Covid Lockdowns and I am always so impressed but how well my students learn to manage the technology (better than me at times!)
I now conduct all my sessions online using Zoom and Google Classroom to share resources and work live on documents together.
