Our founder and director, Miss Kellie, is a registered teacher and curriculum specialist with a Masters of Primary Teaching and a Bachelor of Psychology. Kellie has over 12 years of teaching experience, specialising in the primary years of schooling. She has spent the last five years training teachers in field of literacy and numeracy across Preschool to Year 6. Kellie has taught in a range of school settings and has experience working as an Instructional Leader across several school networks.
Bloom offers Preliminary and HSC Chemistry and Biology Tutoring completely remotely via Zoom. Each week I create personalised slides for my students to cover the content they wish to cover during the weeks session. Additionally, I create personalised quizzes for my students to complete at the conclusion of the lesson to provide an opportunity for my students to receive fast and detailed feedback on their HSC style responses to real-life past paper questions. I am incredibly dedicated to all my students and tend to run over time, whether it be because my student is struggling to understand a concept and simply need someone to talk to about their concerns. I am here for all my students and strive to respond to all questions outside class times within 30 minutes.
For me, I absolutely love the Gap Document I create for my students shrink. From the first session with my students, I create a Gap Document that includes detailed summaries of the individual topics a student struggles to understand after each session. Each week, I add/remove content for the student to revise in hopes of having all content removed from it prior to a students final HSC exam.
I have always had a unique approach to tutoring, one that greatly differed from the previous companies I used to work for. I believe in the power of rapport as I've realised that building a genuine connection with my students helps aid the process of learning; it helps me work out alternative ways to explain a concept that works best for my students and really tailor my session slides in order to create an encouraging learning space.
Having sat my HSC Chemistry and Biology exams in 2020 and currently completing my final year of Chemical Engineering, I understand the stress associated with preparing for any academic exam!. I achieved an ATAR of 98.20, with band 6's in both chemistry and biology. My thorough understanding of the content combined with my natural creativity has led me to my innovative tutoring approach, one that has seen my previous students exceed the goals we set in our first session together.
