I started training with Bob in February 2015 because I was stuck. When I first started my journey I wanted to eliminate 20 pounds while looking fit rather than just being skinny. Bob explained in order for me to reach my goal, I would not only have to dedicate myself to working out, but to also watch my food intake. I started exercising 3 or 4 times a week and documenting what I was eating. Bob would always take the time needed to encourage me! When I first started working out it was an obligation, but after being trained by Bob, I actually started enjoying working out and increasing my activity to 5 or 6 times a week. Bob is always so encouraging. I have reached my goal! I know I could not have done it on my own. Bob will push you and he won't let you give up. Be prepared to give it your all and do not hesitate to ask questions. I'm happy with myself and where I am now. I would not have accomplished my goals without Bob.

Rene Thomas
My first experience was with talking to Brie, the office receptionist. What a nice young lady. She took my information and said I would get a call back. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from Dr. Ryan. He said, “Let’s get you in so we can help you feel better!” He he very knowledgeable about chiropractic care and very personable. I have already recommended him to my family, friends, and co-workers!

I really cannot say enough about Heather and her training! She is simply amazing! When I first came to her, I was a runner and long time exerciser (and former extremely overweight person), but I rarely did weight/resistance training. Also, I was in a stalled out routine. I was frustrated with my increasing weight and my self-devised training. Finding her was EXACTLY what I needed. She assessed me, came up with a resistance plan, a cardio plan (that wasn't JUST running), and a nutrition plan. I LOVED every session with her...even when I was tired, cranky, stressed out. After a session, I'd feel awesome and strong (and beautiful)! My weight went back down (I fit back in my pants I missed) and she helped me craft arms and shoulders I didn't know were in there! And, for the first time in my LIFE I did pushups on my TOES (which to me was the pinnacle of fitness).
Heather makes training not only effective, but also fun. She mixes up EVERY workout so you never do the same routine. She takes all the thinking and planning out of it for you. She also watches your form to make sure you are using the correct muscles and getting the most from every move! Since I was the only person there during my time, she watched EVERYTHING! She holds you accountable, but in an encouraging way! She'll challenge you with the weights and be as excited as you are when you reach a new goal. I truly could go on for pages!
When I moved, I had to leave her and it was one of the things that made that move super tough! If I could have moved her with me, I absolutely would in a heartbeat! The private studio is amazing if you are even a little self-conscious. It gives you the ability to grow and really challenge yourself! If you want to invest in yourself and find muscles you are SURE you don't have...go see her!!!
Should I work out every day of the week?
It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!
Where can I have my personal training sessions?
Pretty much anywhere! The great thing about personal training is that it’s flexible - as long as you have the necessary equipment, you and your instructor can decide to have your sessions from the gym, your home, the park, or even your office if you want to!
Does my fitness instructor need to know anything about me?
Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.
What does a standard personal training session involve?
It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!
What qualifications should a personal trainer have?
A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.
Can I get a Personal Trainer online?
Absolutely! Online personal training has become increasingly popular as more people are looking to maintain their fitness during lockdowns and gyms closing. As long as you and your personal trainer have a strong internet connection and a device to stream on like a laptop, tablet or smartphone, there's no reason why your session can't be delivered remotely.
