BEST FOOD EVER!!! We had hushpuppies (the best I have ever eaten), their fried chicken (amazing), and some kind of salad that was soooogood I won't mention how any helpings I had!! We will be back. If you miss this restaurant while in Charleston......then go back! It is worth it!
The Darling Oyster Bar
We offer offsite catering for nighttime private events. Our specialty is Oyster Roasts and Lowcountry Boils. We do offer or dining room during the daytime Monday-Saturday from 9a-2pm for luncheons, and brunches for any occasion! Our offerings for daytime private events can be curated through our restaurant menus.
The Darling is definitely the epitome of a Charleston restaurant. The decor of nautical palettes and wall designs, plus the upbeat, social atmosphere perfectly compliment the restaurant's menu of baked oysters, raw bar favorites, and classic sandwiches. There is a ton of natural light that pours in over the gorgeous raw bar, which makes it feel like an outdoor setting. Cocktails, like the Paloma, are delicious and very reasonably priced. Table and booth placements make for a fluid rotation around the bar, which allows for a short wait time to get booze :) I can't wait to eat the tuna poke in my bikini when summer finally comes around! #ohmydarling
Better than a restaurant! Chef Jen was outstanding. We used them for a special lunch out our house with my family. Food and service was out of this world. We had chicken biscuits as apps and shrimp and grits. Chef Jen had everything ready to go when we needed and even cleaned the kitchen before leaving. They are awesome!
Ron and Kim and their team were excellent. The food was great, the service also.Working long-distance (a rehearsal dinner with an out-of-town groom) was no challenge at all. They had worked the venue before, many times, and the evening was flawless. There were many more servers than I expected, and I got what I wanted -- the ability to relax and enjoy a lovely event for our two families. Ron and Kim are a blessing!
Lowcountry Boil traditional style has been a big event for bachelor and etts. Our famous Shrimp and grits cups and Gullah dishes are a top seller also.
