'At The Dinner Party' - Is the chance for you, your family and your friends to experience professional restaurant quality food in the comfort of your own home. Cooked by a MasterChef finalist & runner-up. As a highly skilled and experienced chef, I will work with you to produce a menu personal to your very own needs, whether it be simple or sensational. I will then come to your chosen venue, your house, a self-catering cottage you‘re renting or a marquee in your garden. On the day of the event I will arrive at your venue at a prearranged time and will prepare, cook and serve you the perfect dinner party. 'At the Dinner Party' also caters for lunch events, afternoon tea party's and can also provide a number of different buffet options, just get in touch to discuss your requirements, after all 'At the Dinner Party' is all about bespoke tailormade events, design especially for you. What’s your signature dish?

This is a tough one to answer as I love to cook most dishes, however 'At the Dinner Party's' most popular dish has been the Apple Tart Tatin, salted caramel, calvados crème fraiche for dessert.
Many of my lamb dishes have also become very popular.

How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?

I listen carefully to the clients brief, what they like or dislike, the size of the event, the budget they'd like to stick to. I then take all of this information and write a bespoke menu for the client which reflects their brief and the seasonal aspect of the food. So far I have nailed the menus on first attempt about 95% of the time, the rest of the time I have just had to tweak a couple of bits.

What do you love most about your job?

Setting up 'At the Dinner Party' has given me the opportunity to carry on doing what I love which is cooking beautiful food, but I can now do this without all of the politics that is associated with working in a hotel or restaurant.
I am loving getting out all over Yorkshire and seeing so many stunning homes and holiday cottages, and meeting some lovely people and being a part of their event.

What inspired you to start your own business?

After more than 16 years working as a full time chef in hotels and restaurants, I decided I wanted to do something for myself, I wanted to be able to make the decisions I wanted, and not be dictated to by owners and managers.
Since setting up 'At the Dinner Party' I haven't looked back and have never been happier.

I pride myself on quality, if I believe I cant cater an event to my exacting standards then I don't take the job. I get fantastic feedback from all clients, I have grown a loyal following of clients now, with lots of repeat custom and customer recommendations, which I feel speaks for itself.
