My fiancé and i chose to eat at The Chef and The Cook Friday evening. We made reservations ahead of time just in case they were going to be busy and upon speaking to our server, we found out that in fact, quite a few people had called for reservations so space was most likely going to fill quickly. I liked the transparency we were given in that respect. As an appetizer, we ordered the Charcuterie (I’m obsessed with cheese). The assortment of cheeses and meats was phenomenal. When we asked which cheeses and meats were featured, our server politely told us she would go find out for certain. She came back and gave us the full run down- Honey Goat cheese, Welsh cheddar, fontina, and brie and it’s served with sopersat and house made naan blackberries, pickled onions, and pickled long hot peppers dijon. I was thoroughly pleased with her attention to detail. For the main course, i ordered the ribs and my fiancé ordered the lobster roll. Flavors were absolutely impeccable and the ribs were perfectly prepared. I tend to shy away from ordering ribs at restaurants because I’m never thrilled with texture. These were unlike any i had had before. Towards the end of our meal, Chef and owner, DeAnna came to our table and we had a lovely conversation with her about everything we had just eaten. She expressed their love for using farm fresh ingredients and i could just see the passion she has for this restaurant. I hope they continue to thrive with this restaurant. We definitely left as full and happy customers Friday evening and we will be back.

Had my wedding reception there the first weekend of October and I cannot say anything bad about this place!! Joanna and the rest of the Fireside Inn staff are nothing short of amazing! Always friendly and Joanna is SO helpful, which made the wedding planning so much easier. Anything I needed or if I had a question, she was always right there to help. Even on the night of the reception her and her staff never stopped working to make our night amazing. If I ever need to throw a party somewhere or need a venue place again, this place will the the very first spot I call. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

What should I look for when choosing a Caterer?
It is important to know the following before deciding on a catering company:
Event Specialists - Many caterers handle certain types of events on a regular basis, such as weddings and corporate events.
Different cuisines - Caterers might specialise in different kinds of cuisine. Some caterers may provide a fine dining experience while others excel at barbecues that suit company picnics.
Special requirements - If you have special requirements for the food or a specific menu in mind make sure your caterer is happy to meet those requirements.
Venue - Your gathering might be taking place at someone’s home, a venue or outdoors. It can be helpful if your caterer has worked at the venue before.
Tastings - Ask for a tasting to make sure the food is of a high standard. Most caterers will prepare one for you at no charge, allowing you to assess the quality of their cooking before you hire them.
How do I check a Catering Company’s credentials?
You could look for caterers with a foundation degree, higher national diploma or degree in Professional Cookery and Culinary Arts.
Before you choose a caterer, you could read testimonials and see pictures of their food on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read reviews from past customers, too.
