At Catering, by Chef Cox & Co. we specialize in Private Dinner Parties, Corporate Events and Specialty Desserts in the greater Saint Louis area. Our mission is to take the "Restaurant Experience" and bring it to you. We create your customized menu specifically for each event and it is then produced by hand, from seasonal ingredients to ensure the highest quality. I have worked with individuals having an event in their home, to corporate events, to charity functions, to individuals who want culinary classes. Because each event is tailored, there is a lot of flexibility with who I can work with and in what space. Once I have connected with the Client and get a good idea what they are looking for, I will send a customized Menu Proposal for them to review and select from. Pricing is based on that Menu selected by the Client. For Coursed Dinner Parties as well as Events with Appetizers & Hor's D'oevres, it is a Price per Person format which is all inclusive (food, my time, servers / cooks time, clean-up etc.).

What’s your signature dish?

Having a Southern inspired background, I would have to say that our Shrimp & Grits Entree, Fried Green Tomato Appetizer and Carrot Cake with my Signature Cream Cheese Frosting are at the ones that come to mind.

I also have a selection of Signature Appetizers and Entrees available that are very dear to my heart as well as favorites from previous events.

I am well versed in Southern Cuisine, Authentic Mexican Cuisine due to my Heritage, Asian, Thai, Indian, German, Dominican, Mediterranean and more Global Flavors.

How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?

One of the things that I pride myself the most with my catering business is that I customize each menu specifically to each client. With the majority of other caterers, the client is just one of many for that day and the menu selections are set with possible modifications.

The difference with my company is that I tailor and create the menu options based on the event, the clients vision for the event as well as the flavors / dietary requests needed. When selecting my catering services, your event will be the only one for that day.This creates a unique experience just for that client and their event. My team also prepares everything from scratch, on sight which also ensures the highest quality product.

What do you love most about your job?

I absolutely love being a Chef. From an early age, I have always felt that being a Chef is who I am no, not just what I do. What I love the most about my catering business is that I am able to meet a lot of great individuals and share my passion for food and flavor at very important celebrations in their lives. I love being able to create an environment where the client can truly enjoy their event and not have to do anything other than enjoy their event and company.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I started my business in 2006 back in Birmingham, Alabama which is where I went to Culinary School. I started my catering business because I recognized the need for this concept of bringing a Fine-Dining experience to clients homes / events. That attention to detail which made me fall in love with being a Chef, coupled with working with seasonal, fresh ingredients has really allowed me to find this niche in the catering market.
