looking to join the parachute regiment and need help with all sorts off running, mainly a 1.5 mile in under 10 minutes.

I play hockey during the winter but am.looking to really focus and concentrate on running during the summer. Without ever really training I run 5km in around 18 mins and 10kms in around 38. I have a VO2 max of 72 according to my garmin so I think I have potential to be pretty good. I want to focus on 5km - 10km and compete in events.
