Liberty Private Care Ltd

‘21 Certificate of Excellence

At Liberty Private Care we offer a bespoke high quality home care service that both clients and their families can trust. Our aim is to change traditional home care and exceed client expectations by redefining the future of private home care, guide its culture, and provide the best-in-class healthcare. We provide care from 1 to 24 hours a day to people who have difficulties in managing their day to day lives and need help with personal care, washing, dressing, taking medication, keeping their home clean and tidy, shopping, preparing meals and drinks, and helping clients complete any rehabilitation or instruction from their Consultant, GP or health professional. We also provide complex, end of life and palliative care for when you need a high degree of experience. We know from personal and professional experience of the time it can take to manage someone’s day to day care when you have a busy family or professional life, or don’t live locally. So, we developed an inclusive wrap around service which saves clients and their families time and worry co-ordinating with other health professionals to help manage a person’s individual care and health needs. There are a wide range of conditions that we support people with, in a dignified and respectful way, including difficulties caused by dementia and health events such as strokes, sensory impairments, neurological conditions like Parkinson’s, head and spinal injury, end of life care, complex care and age related frailty. Traditionally there is a limit to what carers can do in home care, and there is a gap between where conventional care stops and nursing starts. We have an enhanced registration with the Care Quality Commission to provide levels of care to bridge that gap. All our carers are employed, experience and qualified in care and are then trained by a qualified and experienced nurse to deliver enhanced and advanced care tailored to your individual needs.

What do you love most about your job?

Starting a new package of care and bringing all our expertise to bare to respond to the need, and seeing that positive change which has improved the lives of the client and those closest to them. Relatives find it a huge relief that someone they can trust can meet issues head on and deal with problems with medications or accessing health service or equipment.

What inspired you to start your own business?

My Mother In Law. She lived close to us and had dementia and a series of complex health needs. My wife was coordinating all the appointments, medications etc and it became a full time job which started to affect her health and wellbeing. Care companies were only interested in 'doing the care' and not anything else. That demonstrated that there was a need for someone to provide much, much more than just normal home care. So we brought in our combined 40+ years care and nursing experience and started Liberty Private Care with the ethos of redefining private home care.

Why should our clients choose you?

We do much more than traditional home care organisations by providing nurse led advanced care services to our clients, supported by the enhanced registration we have with the Care Quality Commission and external accreditations like the Six Steps End of Life Award.

We work on the basis of client first and so a client sees a regular small number of carers to be their care team.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Whilst hands on care is done on a person to person basis, access to our registered nurse and registered manager can also be done via the telephone or various media.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

All our carers are trained in infection prevention and control and have that knowledge reviewed several times through the year. They also have free access to PPE as they need including masks, gloves, aprons, and hand sanitiser. We also support our carers by providing hand moisturiser to promote good hand conditioning. Our nurse carries out infection control audits to ensure that all measures that can be taken to reduce or eliminate the risk of any infection, not just COVID-19, are implemented.
